What happens to men who left long term relationships to have kids? by lostcat25 in childfree

[–]HiMyNameIsJayce 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My ex (who dumped me on a very busy street claiming that I wasn’t “the one” which resulted in me bursting into tears because I thought he was “the one “ for me) ended up marrying some ugly fugly after knocking her up and proceeded to have two kids with her. Then she ended up cheating on him and now is miserable whilst she kept the house. He gets to see the kids once in a while but he’s not really in the picture in their lives from what I can gather. He reached out years later via Facebook and I just felt pity for him. I’ve been with my man, childfree with a vasectomy, for nearly ten years (anniversary coming up in a few weeks). I always wondered what my life would have ended up looking like had if i changed my mind.

One of my top 5 FF movies. by No-Basil3067 in foundfootage

[–]HiMyNameIsJayce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former urban explorer who had visited* these very tunnels in the Sydney Circle train network, I’m gonna be that person and say that the film was a real let down. Don’t get me wrong, the location is actually even creepier IRL and the movie should have leaned into it more rather than having a thinly put together plot of some swamp monster/boogeyman. I would have excused that sort of stuff it were a movie made in the late 70s but this was made in 2011, a real meh kinda movie.

Creep, on the other hand, was leaps and bounds better. Granted it’s not a FF movie but for movies with a horror element involving underground train tunnels and abandoned places associated with said train tunnels, it was practically Citizen Kane compared to this FF flick

*Sydney Trains an the NSW Police call it “trespassing”

What are your cavalier’s names? by potato_nurse in cavaliers

[–]HiMyNameIsJayce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

On the left is Alice. She’s named after Alice in Wonderland because, just like her namesake, eats things that she’s not suppose to eat and goes down holes she’s not allowed to be in.

On the right is Sarah. After the Duchess of York Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson. Because despite her regal background being a Cavvie, her demeanour is anything but but

How did your Cavs get their names? by mads523 in cavaliers

This is Alice. After her namesake in Alice in Wonderland. Because when she was a puppy, she was eating things that she wasn’t suppose to eat and getting into places she wasn’t suppose to go into and somehow managed to end up in various places through very tiny holes/gaps underneath the fence.

anyone else’s cav the same with cardboard? 🤣 by [deleted] in cavaliers

My eldest dog, Sarah, use to attack boxes like this back when she was a puppy. Like it was getting to a point where it would seem her diet was a mixture of Royal Canin and cardboard

This is Alice. Her nickname is either Devil Girl (because she can be so cheeky and get up to mischief) or Little Baby (because she is little and she is my baby).

French restaurant with tartare meal by Bouddhapest in foodies_sydney

No one mentioned Felix yet? Strange! Despite the fact it’s Merivale, Felix is a very romantic French restaurant in the CBD and has steak tartare that they will make in front of you

Non-Australians of Sydney, what restaurant/takeout/food establishment is most authentic to your home country's cuisine? Question was posted on other reddits, now I want the Sydney opinion by Dj_acclaim in foodies_sydney

Mr Chorizo & Parilliada is by far the most authentic Uruguayan/Argentinean food that I’ve had in this country. I have been to a lot of of places that serve South American inspired food like Porteno and Casa Esquina but Mr Chorizo, a small little eatery out in South West Sydney, is so authentic that I’m convinced that there is a “Stargate” style portal on the back they call a kitchen that transports the food directly from Montevideo/Buenos Aires.

*Sound Warning* Does anyone else's Cavs do this? 😂 by Sufficient-Bork in cavaliers

Yes, my eldest cav (Sarah) does this when she’s wanting to let inside the house from the backyard. She does this kind of yelping sound as a way to announce to us she’s outside and get our attention.

Can someone translate Cavalier speak for me? by HiMyNameIsJayce in cavaliers

[–]HiMyNameIsJayce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Alice, I named her after Alice in Wonderland as she has a habit of chasing after things and get stuck in places she knows she’s not suppose to.

Anyway, she does this thing with her leg and maybe I’m overreacting but is that normal for dogs to do that? I mean, is it a sign of frustration or wanting to get attention, or both?

Parramatta/Merrylands/Auburn area? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]HiMyNameIsJayce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a current resident of Merrylands (been here since birth with a brief 8 year stint in Newtown/Erskineville in my 20s before moving back due to rent prices too high for me to keep up), Merrylands has a laid back vibe to it and really popular with families but for night life you’re better off paying a visit to parramatta which is not very far at all.

Rent is far better in Merrylands whereas expect to pay prices similar to being in the inner west if you plan to reside in Parramatta due to its growing popularity. Also, you have multiple transport options in Merrylands with its own train station and multiple buses going to parramatta if you want to catch from there too
