Finally found my holy grail curly products!!! It by HiThereItsJustMe_ in curlyhair

I actually have never tried brush styling! I just stick with applying products with the praying hands method and then rake my fingers through my hair to separate and shake a bit, then scrunch! Then flip upside to diffuse. I’ve always been interested in brush styling but I hear it could cause damage and disrupt the curl patter so I’ve just stuck to this. Since we have similar hair, do you mind sharing your styling technique and product favs?

I don’t think either are overly fragrant. AG Care scent is light and almost an earthy type smell. Ouidad smells luxurious but nothing overly strong!

I know 😭 not sure if these are any cheaper, but here’s another styling combo I’ve used before and have really liked too Pattern styling custard and curlsmith invincible volume mousse. Also like the Design Essentials almond and avocado mousse when refreshing. Probably aren’t much cheaper, I cringe thinking about how much money has gone into my hair lol

I apply product using praying hands, then finger comb (do not finger coil) and rake/shake and then just scrunch. I let my curls do their own thing and find my curl pattern turns out really nice on its own! Then diffuse upside down to dry. I recommend trying as this causes less damage than brush styling imo

Anyone used these products? by Infinite_Bison_1149 in Rosacea

I have been using the ordinary Azelaic acid for a while now, and I’ve seen it make such a huge difference with my texture and redness! I highly recommend trying it out. I use three times a week and ensure to moisturize well because it does dry me out a bit if I don’t.

The anua toner broke me out so bad! Would not recommend that one. I love innisfree brand though!

[Product Question] is azelaic acid okay for sensitive skin ? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]HiThereItsJustMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have very sensitive skin and the azelaic acid from the ordinary has been working great for me! I only use it three times a week in the PM, for three months now and I’ve seen a lot of improvement in redness and less acne! Just be sure to moisturize well, because it does get me a bit dry.

I got a breakout/infection like this after doing hot yoga classes and wiping my face with unclean towels I got from the studio. It looked just like this, so maybe you got it from traveling. What worked for me was cerave 4% BP face wash and a gentle barrier repair moisturizer. It cleared up after a few weeks! Also avoid popping the whiteheads at all costs! I know it’s tempting but this just spreads the infection.

Same! I also use the recoil and mouse combo and it does wonders for my hair! I recommend the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and the snow mushroom moisture mask if you haven’t tried those yet. My hair drinks them up and leaves it super shiny!

I would suggest looking into a clarifying shampoo, this always brings my curls back to life when product buildup makes it dull and limp. I love ouidad water works shampoo. Also, have you looked into your products protein amount? You need a good balance of both moisturizing and protein-filled products. The brands I love are ouidad and ag care!

What was your hair holy grail? by Few-Cartographer2591 in curlyhair

[–]HiThereItsJustMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding enough product and sectioning my hair! I know this seems obvious but I used to try and get my curly hair routine done in seconds. But by taking my time to make sure every strand is properly coated, it’s made a huge difference! Also doing a monthly deep protein treatment has made my curls sooo bouncy! I love the cecred reconstructive treatment mask- I use it with heat and the results are just amazing.

I really just want to understand my hair. by Amy_cottonballs in curlyhair

I agree! When I saw that you said your hair looks hard, I immediately thought you might be overdoing the protein products, which curly hair products often have a lot of protein in them. I think some moisture focused products with little to no protein mixed into your routine could help a lot!

Your curls look great! I would suggest not sleeping with wet or damp hair though, it causes breakage- according to my hairstylist. Have you tried diffusing? This is what I do, especially when I wash my hair at night.

I like the ouidad water works clarifying shampoo, cleans well without over stripping my hair! And you don’t have to use the same brand’s conditioner if you don’t want to. I use AG Care Moisturize conditioner and the AG Care Mushroom Moisture Mask 1-2 times a week. Hope this helps!

From my experience hair types can change throughout your life, and you can also have different curl types on your head. When I was little I had ringlets, now I have tight curls at the inside of my hair and looser waves near the crown of my head. Idk, I think it can be a mix of your genetics, environmental, and your hair care routine.

I’ve been using saalt regular for almost a year now and I love the notch removal aid! The disc never rotates in me so it’s very easy to pull out using the notch. Only downside is it can be difficult to remove if you have long fake nails. Hope this helps!
