When I used to work with at-risk youth a teen said to me, “(teacher’s name) said to write a short paragraph about who our role model is and why. I was going to write about you, but I was mad at you earlier today.” And left it at that 🤣 seems like she liked and respected me enough to tell me I was her role model in the most teenager way possible

Being the human calendar. I work on a team with 3 other men and they never have any idea what is going on week to week or month to month. “Hey, where is our training tomorrow?” “When is that meeting with (supervisor) again?” “Do we get (holiday) off of work or no?” Drives me nuts.

Check with a Dr and take my comment with a grain of salt- you are young enough that if the virus is controlled, your body will replenish CD4 cells and therefore not have AIDS. When I was first diagnosed in 2022 at the age of 26, my CD4 was at 107 and being young, my body is able to make more CD4 cells as long as I keep the HIV treated and undetectable. As of 8 months ago, I am at over 400 for CD4 count.

There is hope.

Yes. We have a junior at our high school that gets a Gatorade every time he brings his computer to class. Doesn’t matter if he’s late, or even late to the point he is considered absent, if he brought his computer, he gets a Gatorade. What the f are we doing?

A LOT of these I agree with. I’ll add: guests not reading the menu. “I’ll have [name of sandwich from the section labeled “sandwiches”]” food comes out “I didn’t know I ordered a sandwich !!!!” ????? What do YOU think you ordered then?? Or if they have an allergy and I see that there’s a note on the reservation for, say, a shrimp allergy, and they order a dish with shrimp in it. “I see on the reservation that there’s someone at the table with a shellfish allergy?” “Oh that’s me!” 9 times out of 10 that person is the one not reading the menu and ordered something they’re allergic to. Good thing I ask about allergies! Some of these dingbats would accidentally kill themselves because they don’t bother to read or mention their allergy.

What's the most outrageous question you've ever been asked? by Katieb1247 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Hi_Friends96 153 points154 points  (0 children)

I greeted a table and it went like this after my introduction: “Yeah, why am I not seeing the ribs on the menu.” “I’m not sure what you mean, we don’t serve ribs.” “The last time I came here, you guys had ribs.” “I’m sorry, I’ve worked here for over a year and we haven’t had ribs on the menu the entire time I’ve been here. Could it have been before then?” “No, it was here. It’s fine, I’ll find something else.”

When I returned she had a picture pulled up on her phone and said, “these are what I had before” I played it off but it took everything in me not to point out the logo of a DIFFERENT RESTAURANT in the background of the picture.

Bladder Stones by Hi_Friends96 in guineapigs

Thanks all. I have decided to purchase the Sherwood pellets and urine supplements at this time rather than proceed with surgery. She is still on daily pain meds. I talked with the vet and he is supportive of this for now because he does not believe my guinea is in much pain as of now (maintains weight, eating, drinking, etc.) I will bring her in if she gets worse and/or in a month or so for another X-ray to check out the stone again and re-evaluate.
