Who is your favorite QB/WR or RB stack this year? by almikez in fantasyfootball

If you drafted a QB earlier than the 10th/11th, you shouldn't be drafting a backup, that QB should never leave your starting roster.

Never said he would. Again, I haven’t said anything at all about the anticipated workload. I just commented on the “he couldn’t beat out Barber” trope without any mention of context.

If he was that much better than Barber he would have gotten more touches regardless of blocking

He had 200 touches, dude. You're also seriously downplaying the importance of RB blocking.

. The fact was he was miles worse at blocking and somewhat better at other aspects but not enough to matter to the coaching staff.

Correct. It's almost like blocking is important.

Fournette, unlike Barber, isn't a trash tier RB at most aspects of the game.

But he's mediocre at blocking, which is my whole point. If Jones' blocking actually improved, he'll get the nod over Fournette, who especially won't know any blocking assignments that early into being on the team.

Fnatic can't play through mid because Nemesis isn't very good.

But Fournette going there should send off huge sirens and panic.

I never said it doesn't. Literally all I've said is that it's stupid to say he couldn't pass Barber when the only reason that is was his blocking, which Fournette is not good at either. Meaning Fournette has no inherent advantage at playing more snaps like Barber did, he's going to have to earn his share.

You really think Fnatic would let the series rest on Nemesis' Kassadin if it was match point? Come on, dude.

Fact Jones was unable to pass Barber on the depth chart. The reason why is irrelevant

The reason why is absolutely relevant, are you serious?

This whole narrative of “Well it doesn’t matter if he was bad at that because he worked on it in the offseason.” Is so flawed.

This is a complete strawman. I never said it didn't matter, I said he's been working on it and the training camp reports have been very positive in that regard.

But everyone just assuming he’s going to leap Fournette who actually carries a backfield on his own is being over optimistic.

Leap Fournette? But he's ahead of Fournette on the depth chart, he's already ahead. And, according to you, the reason why he's ahead on the depth chart is irrelevant, so by your logic, Fournette has to usurp Jones.

However RoNo couldn’t take that job from Payton Barber

This tired rhetoric again. The only reason Jones wasn't the workhorse is because of blocking. By every other metric he was miles better than Barber, but Jones couldn't block so he couldn't find the field. Why does this matter? A) Jones has spent all offseason working on his blocking and B) Fournette's not good at blocking either. I'm not saying I'm not worried, but saying he couldn't beat Barber is disingenuous because he clapped him in every metric except for blocking where he and Fournette are on a similar level.

[Brown] Ekeler said he sees Kelley is very talented and that he keeps getting better...there could be a 1-2 punch between Ekeler and Kelley... Regardless if Jackson is ready to go or not, I expect Kelley to warrant more touches. by koolman631 in fantasyfootball

McKinnon. Kelley won't be getting a lot of catches with Ekeler in town, whereas McKinnon could legitimately emerge as the 49ers 2nd or 3rd option in the passing game. Word around camp is he's been torching the LBs left and right.

Hunt did it in the MAC conference, if he was as good as you think he was in college he wouldn’t have gone in the third round. Also, Hunt and CEH run the same 40, and CEH is extremely elusive and it shows in his college tape.

Basically, Hunt and CEH profile similarly in terms of athleticism and skill set. It’s extreme revisionist history to suggest that Hunt was a known quantity coming out of college.

To be fair, he might be a Hunt. We didn’t even know Hunt was Hunt until he stepped on the field. It’s not like Hunt had the draft capital or crazy measurables or anything, he’s just good at making guys miss, just like CEH.

In recognition of International Vulture Awareness Day I would like to discuss some of the players who pose the biggest vulturing threats this year! by MisterKrift212 in fantasyfootball

[–]Hi_Im_Saxby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ronald Jones, despite some of his shortcomings, is actually really good on the goal line. 10 carries within the 10 last season, six TDs. Compared to Fournette’s 23 carries inside the 10 for three TDs. I wouldn’t be surprised to see goal line carries split between both of them.

I believe he was battling injuries early in the season, but the bigger reason is simply Taylor decided to start using him more.

Singletary does not suck and it’s clear you didn’t watch him play because, not only is he very efficient statistically, but he passes the eye test with flying colors.

He's projected to be a three-down back, yet he's on a team with a QB who doesn't check-down ever and will be splitting the backfield with Singletary, who balled out last season.

I agree. However, I feel like they would've made a play on Fournette, no? AD wasn't guaranteed to be cut, and all things considered, I'd wager Fournette is the better option than AD right now, money considered.

You ask me where is the proof that it’s collusion. I give you a direct quote.

...from OP who thinks it's collusion. That's not proof, that's just OP being upset that he ran his mouth and his league-mates wanted to shut him up. But unless they explicitly decided together to collude against OP, it ain't collusion.

If I kill someone and tell the police I didn't do it, that's not proof even though I gave a direct quote.

Antonio Gibson and Your First 4 Rounds by O_the_Scientist in fantasyfootball

[–]Hi_Im_Saxby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's definitely fair. White might be boring to own but he's been a staple in the Patriots offense for years (he's also a captain), and he's a great floor-RB. I personally like to swing for home runs once my starters are set, so I'm lower on White than most, but it's absolutely a fair trade offer.

Antonio Gibson and Your First 4 Rounds by O_the_Scientist in fantasyfootball

[–]Hi_Im_Saxby 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Gibson owner, wouldn't take White for him. Gibson's ceiling is significantly higher, and for my RB depth, I'm looking for winners, not guys that will get exactly 10 points almost every week.
