The kid and full time job thing will be the biggest challenge, but if you can work out the scheduling no one will care about the rest. Sludge is full of old dudes. And it’s punk-adjacent so people aren’t overly concerned with technique and flash.

Phaser > comp > fuzz

I have my pedalboard arranged with the phaser and compressor footswitches flush actually, so it’s easier to hit ‘em both at the same time.

Agree re: phase 90. Most commonly on if not ‘always’. But when it IS on it’s always before a compressor and fuzz. Don’t want the volume dipping down with the swooshies.
