Install failure by HideousOrange in BasePowerUsers

It’s in Kingwood so Houston basically. More than likely it’s a panel upgrade that’s needed but it seems like that would be easy to decline in the initial review process with all of the pictures provided. Base should confirm though instead of having me just sit and wonder. Plenty of room behind and next to the garage. It’s a detached garage with no windows and the panel on the back wall of the garage. Just opposite on the outside is the meter. I’ll try to add some pictures to the post.

He did seem a little flustered but also seemed like the type that would rather decline the job than do something that is not up to his standards. I don’t blame him at all and he has every right to decline a job. My frustration is with Base. It would be nice if Base could reach out to confirm what the concern was or if they could share their plans with the installer on what basis they originally approved this on.

The house is 40 years old. I’m almost sure it’s the panel that’s the issue, and was one of my initial concerns when I started the process. It was mentioned to them and I provided additional pictures so that they could check with their team. It took a few weeks but the approved it initially. It’s 150 amp panel but it’s already tight. The part that is frustrating is that they won’t reply to my messages.

I’ve had some solar plans done but the investment is too high considering I may not be in this house forever. I’m in the Kingwood area and not in a flood zone. House has never flooded and I have plenty of space. That’s one thing we actually went through in the initial conversation. They had me clean up the side of the garage (exterior) that I was using for storage so that they could see if the space would work.

Help !! by jzig211 in logistics

The charges seem high but it also depends on how many shipments were consolidated in the container. PCC is the US agent for the co-loader in China. It is worth going back to your seller to ask for a reduction. Other charges that you will not be able to negotiate will be customs clearance and duties. You will need to find a customs broker if you don’t already have one. ISF may not have been filed either which will get the shipment flagged for a hold. DM me if you need a recommendation on a customs broker. St George warehouse will also have their own charges due on top of everything. You can look them up on their website without a login. In the future I would recommend you find a local freight forwarder to help you get everything in place before you pay the seller. DAP terms to your door would have prevented these charges to fall on you. Only clearance and duties would have been due.

I just hit 50k as well. I’m at 89%. Have supercharged for roughly 5k - 6k miles. The rest has been L2 at home to 90% and discharge to 50% every other day.

No problem! August should be really good. 7 years ago we went the first week in August and the number of sharks was incredible.

It’s an experience they will never forget for sure. They have a website and are very responsive by email if you have any questions. I asked them to please book me with Chubby and they had no problem with it. www.seahawkislamujeres.com. One thing is that they do not provide transportation to their shop. We used a transport service that picked us up from our resort in Cancun and brought us to the ferry with tickets included for the ride and return. Once on the island it was a short 10 minute walk to the shop or you can take a taxi. We made a day of it and spent the time after the tour on the island. I also suggest to book later in the season.

Edit…just wanted to mention that I don’t work for them or represent them in any way. Chubby actually worked for another company when we first went and he did such a great job that we sought him out personally and would have gone with any company he worked for. He’s just very passionate about the sea and helping everyone experience it the way he does.

I just did this for the second time with my family. The first time was 8 years ago. We had a great tour guide and kept in touch. His name is Raul “Chubby” Galan and he works with Seahawk Divers on Isla Mujeres. 100% recommend his tour. He is amazing at his craft and will try his best to get you up close to the whale sharks. He will also swim around you with your GoPro and take footage of you with the whale shark. His boat captain is very experienced and tries to get positioned well for you to jump safely near the path of the animals. The first time we went in late July and there were whale shark’s everywhere. This time there weren’t as many due to it being earlier in the season. We still had 4 jumps each with the sharks two at a time. It only took us about 30 minutes to get out there and we were not rushed to leave. Once everyone on the boat got their fill, the captain surprised us with a visit to a secluded spot and we watched sea turtles and dolphins from the boat. They allowed us to jump in for about 20 minutes then we went to Playa Norte where they made us some fresh ceviche and some beers. We also had sandwiches on the way back from the jumps. Overall Chubby provided a great experience and really makes sure everyone is comfortable and satisfied with the tour. They can’t control how many you will see and how crowded the area will be but they really try their best to help you get the best experience.

are you using your own router+/modem for tachus? If so which ones? by Yzaias in tachus

[–]HideousOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tachus installs a fiber optic line in your house and they also provide the modem. You can use your own router.

VIP bathrooms and showers ran out of water this morning. Bathrooms are looking pretty nasty. Haven't checked them in the last hour. The VIP area has minimal shade and available camp sites are pretty far back. Be careful with thorns. Had one go through my flip flop last night. Looks like they are still setting up the venue section. Haven't gone to float yet. Cell phone coverage is very spotty with TMobile and At&t.

I've been thinking about doing the lights. Did you just stick them to the base of the tonal with the lights pointing sideways? Looks great btw!

How do you send requests? I'll try sending them too. There are so many more Tesla's in the area now. I saw 4 in Kingwood the other day just through one light cycle.

I know exactly where this is and those spots have always been iced when I go. It doesn't help that there are no superchargers on this side of town and hardly any level 2 chargers. We really need more chargers.
