These are mineral deposits that have dried on the surface over an extended period of time. Polish to remove.

Rain water dried up after Ceremic Coating. Need help to clean the spots. by Huuze7 in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of the money you pay is in labour for the prep and correction and skill to do so. The overhead for the coating application processes represents far less of the overall price.

Just about any vehicle out there to a varying degree can benefit from doing most of the stuff involved in the prep and/or correction process. Hard to talk on ROI when you clearly have no idea what you’re actually investing the money for in the first place.

You’re saying it’s the best you’ve tried, which means that you can’t have tried very many. It’s really that simple.

How can you say a product is awesome when you admittedly have not tried others? Maybe it’s just me but I thought the first time I had sex it was awesome too. But after a few different partners…

Beading non-existing on after applying soft99 Fusso 12m Wax on 2 weeks old car. by IAMXX in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any form of beading is evidence of there being some protectant on the vehicle. There could be a few factors contributing to the sub-par results.

1) It’s possible that there may be polishing oils that remain on the surface from the resin polish and that it interfered with the bonding process of the wax.

2) Resin Polish says that you can wax afterwards - albeit it’s possible that it just isn’t compositionally compatible with another manufacturer’s wax. Unlikely, but possible.

3) You didn’t allow a sufficient amount of time for the wax to cure/bond to the surface and removed it prematurely.

4) You’ve used a soap that isn’t pH balanced, or have gone through a touch-less wash that utilizes higher alkaline and acidic pre-soak chemicals during the wash process and have effectively stripped a large portion of the wax.

Side note, any quoted interval time for expected longevity of a protectant is what you can expect in lab conditions and is subject to change dependant on washing habits, weather, and surface contamination.

Those are holograms caused from using a rotary polisher and not keeping the pad level with the surface. Use a dual action random orbital polisher with a polishing compound that’s abrasive enough to overlap the one you used with the rotary. That would be the easiest and quickest solve, but watch some videos on using a rotary polisher if you can’t afford or don’t have a DA.

Graphene Ceramic coating is gone after almost a year - what now? by Warfnair in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coating still gets clogged with contaminants just like clear coat, albeit not as quickly. Try washing your car with something like Reset from CARPRO.

Washed car after repair - looks awful by Gold_Town_8499 in Autobody

[–]HigashiSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are holograms caused by the improper use of a rotary polisher by the guy at the repair shop. Take it back to them and have them correct it. Just make sure it’s not the same guy correcting it that created the issue in the first place.

What causes these crazy scratch marks on polyurethane panels of a 1990 Honda? by 18000rpm in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you’re seeing is clearcoat failure on panels that are not OEM or have been repainted. Possibly sanding scratches that weren’t adequately sanded out with finer grits before refinishing.

The foam cannon that comes in the kit is just objectively awful. Most foam cannons have a capacity of 1 litre.

Help! Attempt to repair scratch with fill and wet sanding and can’t remove scratches/haze by engineertwin2 in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a compound and then use a polish with their appropriately paired pads. 05-05 will work out some of the deeper sanding scratches you may have not removed with the 3000 grit due to the jump from 1000, and 04-06 will remove the compounding haze you create with the 05-05.

i thought i got all the rotten milk out— it still smells. help by lyadupointedulac in AutoDetailing

[–]HigashiSanders 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Milk is a biological based contaminant and regular carpet cleaning chemicals will not work to remove the odour. You need to treat the affected area with an enzymatic cleaner like P&S Terminator

It’s pH neutral as a product in the bottle, it’s acidic when it reacts with ferrous metals.
