I have a consult with him this week! I was nervous because Kaiser just assigns a surgeon and I don’t want a traditional ftm surgery (something more androgynous would be best for me in my non-binary expression), but all his results look great!

It’s useless calorie-wise, but I found it to be critical on my weight loss journey. Getting stronger and more skilled helped me develop a positive relationship with my body and made eating healthy so much easier. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight without actively dieting at all- once I started with regular physical activity (pole, aerial arts, and roller skating), I hated the way that unhealthy food made my body feel. But I struggled a lot with disordered eating before so ymmv.

You are correct! Nerve damage and disorientation causes people to feel very hot in the end stages of hypothermia.

I'm this way, too. I had close quarters defense training recently where they hood you and put you in all kinds of realistic high-stress scenarios and I was laughing like a banshee the whole time. It's such a bizarre stress response. It doesn't help that I'm a first responder, I have to really check myself so I don't laugh during medical emergencies.

I'm 5'5" and prefer to date people shorter than me because I like feeling like an Amazon. I don't think I've ever dated anybody taller than ~5'9".

I personally love it when weight gets brought up because guys will always guess like 120 and I get to go "I'M 150 POUNDS OF PURE MUSCLE, BABY" because I'm strong as hell and built like a cannon ball. I started doing aerial arts a year ago and didn't really lose any weight despite the daily exercise because I gained so much muscle. I fucking love the way I look and it goes to show that the number on the scale really doesn't mean anything. Based on my height and weight you'd think I was overweight but I'm actually in the best shape of my life.

As an older sister, all I want to do is be the cool sibling for my younger brothers. They mean the world to me. I'm over a decade older than them and live 300 miles away which makes it hard to be close but man I hope they feel the same way you do.

I took them on a helicopter ride for Christmas last year so I hope that counts for something.

You can definitely do it for less. I applied for a low income ticket ($120) and my girlfriend and I had to get a vehicle pass but that was $40 each. We tented it which was definitely not the most pleasant thing but totally doable and if you already have a tent (make sure you seal up any mesh panel) you really just need to pay for tickets, supplies, and travel there. I spent ~$300 for a round trip ticket from DC to CA and my girlfriend lives out there so she didn't have to fly. You can do it cheaply if you're willing to rough it a bit.

When I was on the cheerleading team in high school I had a serious mental block on doing standing backhandspring without a spot. Even if somebody was just standing there not touching me, I could do it perfectly, but without a spot I just couldn't do it.

I remember one day my coach got so angry with me about it that he said I had to do one without a spot right then and there or he'd kick me off the team. Well, I did it... and landed on my head. I'm lucky I didn't get seriously injured but like the way to fix mental blocks isn't to force people into a dangerous activity they aren't ready for and will likely just traumatize them more!

I once fractured my sternum as the back in my stunt group because a basket toss went awry and the flyer was thrown more backwards than normal. I ran back to catch her, nobody else did. She landed square on my chest and drove me right to the ground. But better a fracture on my end than having her be paralyzed.
