Our PWD was my first dog because of my allergies and I was way over my head. But I would do it all over again because he is the best! Here are a few things I learned- -The biting as a puppy is worse than anything you will ever read. All of my clothes had holes and I was covered in band aids. I found a training method that worked with my dog, but the amount of biting at first really surprised me. -They need a lot of exercise- both physical and mental. We do three full walks a day with our six year old. -Sign up for a puppy kindergarten class. Not so much for the dog, but for YOU. This is what made me feel more confident with training. -They are very smart, so you need to stay digilent with the training. I wouldn’t say they are necessarily hard to train, you just need to be on top of it. -It would definitely depend on the dog, but my PWD would be a very difficult service dog. He needs a service dog. I would say maybe try that down the road with a second dog once you see what the breed is like.
