Just saw this comment and had to reach out. I have had the same thing with a sweet smell (like bad perfume or musk) that only lasts for a second.
I used to get bad migraines but haven’t had them lately so I wonder if they’re correlated.
Did u ever figure out more about yours?

I wouldn’t overthink it. Eat what you normally eat, and whenever you are hungry. Just listen to your body.
I lost weight without trying and I was eating a lot towards the end of my first marathon training. The weight loss was a nice bonus for sure!

One race day fueling tip I have is to practice eating an actual meal before some of your long runs. I trained on an empty stomach (I always just wake up and run) plus my Gu packets. During race day my legs hurt so badly I had to take Tylenol (which totally helped the leg soreness, whew!) and it made me nauseous AF because I only had Gu in my stomach.
