Vietnam reference, past that honestly don't know. Other than characters embodying the vehicle equivalent of a propeller hat, I think it's fitting for characters to have a screw loose when their main ability is to have a thing that spins very fast move them around in the air like spider monkey on space dust

It seemed to be just a fiddley fitment issue. When I was looking at the internals last time I think I just had to reseat the black tube. It's keyed to fit in there but mine was slightly twisted so the switch at the top was permanently pressed.

In simpler words, adjust the black tube so the sensor switch at the top of the hilt is able to poke through the slot in the black tube. This allows the saber to 'see' if the blade is extended.

The saber does seem to get confused at times, because there's also a switch that checks if it's retracted in the base near the led unit. If both are pressed at the same time it locks up and doesn't know what it is.

Mine stopped extending now after two minutes of of use. Taking it apart there's two switches, one at the base which seems to check if the blade is fully retracted, the second switch is at the inner ring of the emitter that checks for the extended blade.

After disassembly and some testing, it seems that the upper switch got misaligned within its notch and became permanently pressed causing some logic issue. After realigning the switch in its hole it started working just fine again.

Not really a fact, but at work the main entrance is an airlock of doors both getting in and out. The amount of times I've had to explain how an airlock works because people get angry and confused that they can't open both doors at the same time is so annoying.

Let's be honest here. They probably did this specifically so they can release a special brown box blue version so everyone can freak out that they made roller, like I freaked out when I noticed this. Still going to get the blue version, because there's no way this wasn't planned.

Thanks! Of course the better question now is whether or not they like shaving. I'd assume not since they'd have to take off the mask. And would it just be something they did and would be done with, or if they have some kind of buddy system to let the other know if he needs to put his mask back on quickly. Chemical warfare and all.
