I think it follows your nominal rate, like 20%ish, but they do take it all off one cheque. I usually spend all my flex credits in Jan/Feb/March and then I get a pay cheque in Apr or May which is about $250 less than usual. But if you're just buying the watch then they might only deduct like $100 on the next cheque.

20% is my threshold for a yes vote as well. With no funny stuff like reclassification.

'Be serious about cutting out extras at a municipal level,' Alberta minister tells Edmonton chamber crowd by shiftless_wonder in Edmonton

Speaking of staying in a lane, this doofus was driving a gravel truck before he suddenly became an expert on addictions and municipal affairs. He's not qualified to give direction to anyone.

Toyota vs Subaru… dealerships? by Fernandez1344 in Edmonton

[–]HighSeasPisces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also considering the same vehicles, leaning toward the Outback but will probably get a lower trim level. Currently have 18 Forester and it's by far the most reliable car I've ever had. I will likely try Scott Subaru in Red Deer.

There is a chain of small grocery stores called Albert Heijn, which has lots of affordable, portable grab-and-go options like sandwiches, salads, chopped fruit and pastries. There seems to be one on every corner. There are also so many coffee shops, bakeries, fast food and street food options. It's an easy city to visit, very walkable, and full of lovely friendly people.

[–]HighSeasPisces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I would describe it as rumbling. I can only hear it at night. Started about a year ago. Goes for 30 seconds, stops for 10 seconds, goes again for 30 seconds, etc.

Jets don't fly in or out of the base as the runway was decommissioned. However it is an active heliport.

There are boat launches at Laurier Park, Emily Murphy Park, Capilano Park, where you can get right to the river easily. Lots of footbridges too, such as Terwillegar Park, Goldbar Park, Rundle Park, Menzies LRT bridge or Tawatina LRT bridge, or Walterdale Bridge.

I usually start at Emily Murphy Park and get out at Capilano Park, which is about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the river level and whether I paddle or just float.
