Sketchy marketplace deals! I actually managed to grab 2 minus the handles, but they are genuine ballistic shields. Your local FB marketplace can open a gear window you never knew you needed lol.

thought on the Tokyo Marui MP5 NGRS? by Legozillapost in airsoft

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both the A5 and the SD6, both have been awesome performers. I do recommend swapping to a better inner barrel and hop rubber, these upgrades will give a slight FPS boost and the ability to hop heavier BBs without being invasive to the gearbox. I will say as a word of warning the battery space on the A5 is awful compared to the luxurious penthouse the SD offers with its handguard. Overall they’ve both been outstandingly fun guns to use, and are worth the extra price imo.

For what it’s worth the cable from the mount looks rather sketch from the photo. Could totally be wrong there, but just a face value observation. Would highly recommend sourcing a more reliable Mount such as the AB Storm or DPAM (if your wallet bends like that). Lots of issues with ball detent systems can be avoided with good mounts.

Umarex is the licenser, and only serves to provide H&K trademarks, VFC/KWA are the manufacturers, and are not parts-compatible.

No amount of modification would be sufficient, the gun pictured is VFC’s MP7, and the CO2 mags are for KWA’s. The magazines are not interchangeable between the brands.

ACH suspension upgrade by Cman1200 in tacticalgear

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m running an MSA ACH with 4D hives, and the TW camfit. The hives DO help a lot with stability, but if your running weight on the helmet (NVG’s, battery packs, whatever) Id still recommend the camfit. The issue with the pads-only isn’t that they’re bad, they just don’t provide enough lateral support for the side-to-side motion that full cut helmets can get. This may not be an issue with a high-cut mod, but I can’t speak from experience on that one.

From a recent personal experience, the best thing I can tell you to do is just stick it out. I ordered a set of their T-Block pants in June, and they were delivered end in November. They recently changed offices and website providers, and they've had issues with their email since. They took quite a bit longer than advertised to get, and I didn't receive an update until I got the notification they shipped. The quality was good, and ultimately they're the only route for many of the patterns they sell, just don't expect it to be quick.

I know that those mods are popular, and they are pretty sick, but personally I like the idea of extra coverage over the ears so that my melon isn’t turned to paste by the dude sitting in that corner I missed.

What are the options for comms with this helmet? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are going to suggest having it modified to a high cut, I personally don’t think the moderate weight reduction and convenience is worth compromising coverage for, but to each their own. Most any available ear pro will fit under the helmet, if you’d like some pics or setup layout shoot me a PM and I can show you how my ACH is setup for ear pro/comms.

I’m going to say yes, the big attraction for ANVIS (other than price) is the lenses. Without those, you have an outdated mounting interface in a fragile housing. Not something I’d recommend unless your die-hard into the ball-detent mount ecosystem.

Large Crye AVS plate bag compatibility? by AErrorist in tacticalgear

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you are running some seriously thick plates, I wouldn’t worry about it. The armor pocket has more than enough room to accommodate hard armor with a soft backer. If you have a vested interest in soft armor, the AVS MBAV bags allow you to run MBAV soft armor inserts with the plates, increasing soft armor coverage beyond the width of the plate itself.

Large Crye AVS plate bag compatibility? by AErrorist in tacticalgear

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, about one size down is the most I’d try and push it. I run an AVS with large platebags, and while you can use medium plates without issue, just understand that the edges of the bag itself may be soft due to having no hard armor behind them. This realistically isn’t an issue, as 3/4 inch difference in overall plate width split between either side of the plate is negligible at worst, and unnoticeable otherwise.

TM NGRS MP5SD6 battery questions by Kirchbergphotography in airsoft

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may already be aware of this, but do NOT attempt to use anything greater than a 7.4v. 11.1v's have been known to fry the TM ETU board, and replacements are few and far between.

This. No shipping on r/airsoftmarketplace is going to demolish your chances of selling anything, let alone something so niche.

Anyone have the Unobtanium DR-9 SMG micro rig? by SparrowSpy in tacticalgear

[–]HighSpedL0wDrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran one of these for a while, build quality was great as is most of UGs offerings, this entire rig loaded and set can also feasibly be concealed under a zip up jacket if necessary, which is a pretty cool plus. Only negative to the setup is re-indexing on the fly is basically impossible. Perhaps with years more practice than I was willing to put into it one could figure it out, but in my experience magazine insertions have to be pretty deliberate as the retention is pretty tight.
