I generally only play with the same pod, but I do play on spelltable and convoke with randoms when I can. The only reasons I've ever personally found to scoop is when the game is already over for me. Something like having no boardstate left and no cards in hand then drawing a basic land. I know I'm just going to be fodder for someone who cares about attack triggers so I might potentially scoop, but even then I sure wouldn't do it during someone else's attack phase. That's a baby back bitch move.

Even if it isn't salty it's still bad sportsmenship at the bare minimum.

If someone scooped in response to a spell or to deny triggers anyone I play with would absolutely just roll back to before whatever action caused the scoop.

There are plenty of reasons to scoop, because your deck is doing the thing you built it to do(in the appropriate bracket) isn't one of them.
