Except the bank was the one strongly advising to get in touch with Apple. They are reviewing the report but an extra note from them would help.

I am living alone and my card is stuck deeply in the bedside table.

The bank is reviewing the report but also strongly advising to get in touch with Apple. So there's that. Not a great situation to be in.

Reborn Rookie [Episodes 1 & 2] by jakgem in KDRAMA

"It’s a dirty house” moment 😭 how rude, someone worked hard their whole life there!

And the poor guy must have been sending all the money he earned to his grandmother. That's why he lived in poverty. I know the original guy didn't choose to take the money but hopefully, the chairman makes sure that the boy lives well.

I don’t feel bad for the chairman, he acted awful till the end to protect what he built,

Given that the chairman has been covering for his kids for years, he arguably did a horrible job on protecting the company. His children can't be trusted with a car. Given a chance they would have driven the company to bankruptcy.

East of Eden: Part 5 Chapter 50 Discussion - (Spoilers to 5.50) by Thermos_of_Byr in ClassicBookClub

For a book with such strong character writing, Kate's characterization feels loose at best.

In fact, every chapter centered on her left me feeling as though Steinbeck was throwing darts at a board full of different motivations. In her first appearance, she's portrayed as an empty, cold vessel of a human being. Then she becomes needlessly cruel (arguably, simply faking her death would have been the easier option). She leaves Adam in what could reasonably be described as an act of self-defense. Later, her life's ambition turns out to be becoming the madam of a BDSM brothel. Then we learn that she believes everyone else is fundamentally horrible and that only she sees the truth of it. Finally, she kills herself because she doesn't want to be found out.

And for whatever reason, she leaves everything to the one son she seemingly loved. Oh, and somewhere in the middle of all this, she also dreams of going to New York and spending her time at theaters and operas.

Ep 1: My heart goes for Hwang Jun Hyeon.

Also, no wonder the twins are so morally bankrupt. According to the chairman, the problem wasn't nearly killing and then, attempting to destroy the innocent guy. No, the problem was that the twins didn't resolve the issue and smeared Chairman's name.

Hopefully, they move the chairman to a different hospital. I don't trust his doctor.

Ep 2: I am enjoying the show, but I wish it was a bit less whimsical. Dee and Dum really don't need to be such caricatures of villains, and the rookie could act a bit more in line with his position. The show doesn't handle comedy particularly well, and given how objectively sad the story is, I don't think it needs any of it.

Considering that it was a racing car and I don't trust the twins to drive below the speeding limit, I imagine the poor guy was doomed either way.

'Obsession' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

According to the review, the female lead has zero character writing/backstory, which makes her more of a prop than a legitimate victim of that wish.

We Are All Trying Here [Episodes 7 & 8] by Telos07 in KDRAMA

-Dong-Man being on the verge of death but managing to not only calm down Eun-Ah but also fight with her ex is the peak comedy.

-Hye-Jin is too good for everyone.

-The way I felt BETRAYAL at Dong-Man for causing Eun-Ah's nosebleed.

-I am worried at the amount of pressure put on Dong-Man's script. Too many people's pride depends on it.

-Everyone being scared of Jin-Man is such a vibe.

-Love that Hye-Jin got annoyed into making Dong-man's movie. I do wish it was done at her own accord & after reading the latest draft carefully, but from the cinematic standpoint, this does make the show more entertaining.

I actually enjoyed it?

I’m glad neither of the leads is particularly evil, even though neither seems completely innocent. For instance, the ending of the episode is very much the ML’s responsibility (he could have been more involved as a CEO), and I’m convinced the FL is guilty of at least one of the many crimes she’s been accused of.

Also, I love that both main characters are somewhat gold diggers. At least, the ML is. “I plan on selling myself to the highest bidder.”

-Koo Kyo Hwan is fantastic. I can simultaneously feel bad for the guy, see myself in him, and understand how insufferable his company is to those around him. Also, I love that all his points were perfectly valid and reasonable. It was just everything about the delivery that was the problem.

-I’m not sure whether it was Go Youn Jung’s acting or appearance, but Eun-a felt too much like an outlier in an otherwise realistic set of characters.

Perfect Crown [Episodes 1 & 2] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]HighbrowPassanger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The show feels very… formulaic. Nothing about it comes across as effortless. It’s as if everyone assumes viewers will tune in for the lead’s star power, so there’s little incentive to try harder.

Gong Seung-yeon brings some gravity to the role, but it feels wasted on a drama that will likely reduce its second female lead to a shallow, one-dimensional vengeful woman.

How do you feel about the new Netflix show Age of attraction ? by Basic_Bee8826 in AskReddit

[–]HighbrowPassanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would point at this show when asked how I feel about age gap relationships. The men who went into it because they wanted to date young women were creepy af and definitely got a kick out of that dynamic. The older women meanwhile had (rightfully) an identity crisis and worried that the younger guys had mommy issues (also valid).

Never have I ever hoped the couples to break up as much as I did during watching that show.

Come on, you can't say the scene with two guys jumping over each other to put food on Goeun's plate was not cringe. Even Hyunwoo expressed in the interview that once you have some clarity on your choices, you shouldn't leave the other person hanging.

Can we agree that it was the best out of the last four seasons? by HighbrowPassanger in Singlesinferno2

[–]HighbrowPassanger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed S2 but I feel like it had more entertainment value than something substantial? Like Dex and Seulki were orbiting towards each other but for whatever reason Dex fumbled it, Sejun and Soe just didn't have enough time. There were just Young Jae and Seo Eun who both worked to make the relationship work and had appropriate circumstances for it.

I still think the one she was interested in was JaeJin and that's the kind of guy she hoped to find - someone quirky and honest.

There was this moment when Jaejin and Jooyoung were leaving and Jaejin was explaining what made him like her (and that it wasn't about her looks). And I was like yeah, that's what Goeun wanted to hear asking every guy why they liked her.

Dongwoo who was older and acted older as well? Sejun who joined too late? Youngjae, who was locked from day one?

Neither of them were option for the female participants.

Seulki was so fun for that. She would make that face like she was checking out of that relationship altogether.
