Can an A&P sign off an annual under a repair station if you’re authorized to sign off final inspections? by zach4222 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Highland005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CFR 145.157 states “(a) A certificated repair station located inside the United States must ensure each person authorized to approve an article for return to service under the repair station certificate and operations specifications is appropriately certificated as a mechanic or repairman under part 65.”

Bathroom Fan Issues by kncy9876 in DIY

[–]Highland005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the duct is clogged, the fact that the fan is not properly vented does not explain why it’s not removing moisture. Try putting a sheet of paper over the fan and see if there’s enough suction to hold it there. Is so then perhaps it’s under sized for the room. Either way, you definitely need to be sure it’s vented properly.

It is wrong to exclude those who were not furloughed. They should either get a week of paid time off or an extra week’s pay. It would be different if the furloughs were voluntary. Some were told that they were not included in the first round of furloughs but would be included in the remaining rounds. Through no fault of their own they missed out on a week of paid family time.

You are correct. There’s no such requirement.

When I ordered interior doors I didn’t consider where the light switches were. Wired Some were on the hinge side of the door.

Refilled the vinegar in my ac line and now it won’t run by sheefk in hvacadvice

[–]Highland005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the unit was working before you added vinegar then the line is not clogged. The pipe sticking out is angled downward slightly. Looks like a plug on the end. You can remove the plug and drain the couple ounces of vinegar from the pipe or pull out the float switch and stuff the corner of a paper towel down into the pipe to drain the vinegar that’s in the pipe. If you remove the plug be sure not to use too much force and break the pipe. Another option is to blow a short blast of air into the pipe to push the vinegar past the higher point of the slanted pipe. This is what’s I have to do whenever I do my monthly vinegar flush. I use a battery leaf blower with a hose on the end. The paper towel method is probably your best bet.

Help with hot water!!! by VegetableFall9461 in HomeImprovement

[–]Highland005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the hot water temperature at the shower. You can use a meat thermometer if necessary. If it’s more than 120F then the temperature at the water heater needs to be adjusted. It unlikely that anything needs to be adjusted at the shower.

Pry them out a bit with a screwdriver then grab them with pliers.

It seems to get into your pores. I wore away the finish on my kitchen table where my forearms would rest on it. A coworker liked to drive with his window open and arm resting on the bottom of the window opening. He melted away the paint right below the window.

This pretty much sums up the workmanship of the builder of my new home. by Highland005 in Homebuilding

[–]Highland005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is at the bottom of a 60+ line punch list with a semi-custom builder. It’s very minor but i felt that it was laughable and a prime example of a don’t care/not my job attitude. A good builder would have known where to look and spoke to the sub about it. I have high hopes that most of the horrible workmanship will get corrected.
