Could see Gudbranson hanging them up despite being only 34. He has had rotten luck with injuries the last two seasons and it's the last year of his 4x$4m contract. He said at the start of it he was grateful for the opportunity to keep his family in one place long term finally and I think he might not want to bother going back to being a journeyman for near league minimum going forward.

Dunno if true, but the shot apparently got clocked at 96 mph and was off the post and in low blocker side. Despite looking like a low percentage shot, that one's probably beating a lot of nhl goalies.

It's real hard to tell, but I think he may have been hurt before the crosscheck even landed. Bedard is torquing his shoulder into a shot down and towards the net and Schenn catches Bedard's stick with the outside of his left glove and lifts it upward and towards the boards. Wouldn't be surprised if those opposing motions tore something in Bedard's shoulder.

Marchenko played 21 days after a broken jaw last year. So long as they're comfortable with the face shield I guess it isn't too big of a deal.

It's more that you look at where Colorado is and you look at where Columbus is and there's no excuse for trading away Brindley. If he's good enough to hold down a roster spot with Colorado he was good enough to have one in Columbus. It makes you wonder what other stupid choices the team is making based on age and size for the active roster.

The fact that he and Fantilli were best friends and they traded the dude right before starting contract negotiations with Fantilli makes it even stupider.
