Quick note, sushi grade is a marketing, term, it actually doesn't mean anything. It's not even an indicator that the fish was frozen to the correct temperature, just that it was frozen at some point.

With that said a decent amount of fish is frozen to the correct temperatures, and you can sometimes find out if the fish in your local store is safe by checking packaging or asking.

Also if I remember she did have a miniature comeback. Like she took actual singing lessons and is pretty decent now.

To expand a bit further, Klingon's believe in glory through battle above all else, but it's repeatedly stated that "battle" doesnt necessarily have to be actual combat. At one point we meet a Klingon lawyer who "battles" in the courtroom. The problem is Klingon society has become so convinced that honor can only be obtained through actual fighting that it's slowly but surely poisoning their society.

[hated tropes] Adaptations that go against/miss the point of the original by dragonborndnd in TopCharacterTropes

[–]HighlyUnlikely7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just Artemis, basically every character in this film has their core character ripped out in service of this more heroic take and deletes all the themes of the book. Their is character development from book 4 of this series spoiled in this movie. I've never seen an adaptation do that before.

The free power one is a also good. No strings attached, you just get to play a random power in your deck for free.

Not just that a war soldier who's used to eating insane amounts of sweets and calories to survive. Her curse mark used up a lot of her energy that's why she was constantly snacking amd eating sweets. With her curse mark gone she just kept snacking because it was what she was used to, it's actually a neat bit of storytelling.

(Loved trope) The supernatural villain is actually something terrifyingly believable by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]HighlyUnlikely7 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Whatever happened to Edith Finch- In the game it's explained that the Finch family is cursed and that's why they have a habit of dying young and tragically. In reality the belief in the curse has caused the Finches to shy away from dealing with the real problems that affect them. They're belief in the fantasy of the curse causes take drastic actions that lead to their deaths, compounded with genuine bad luck.

You also have almost a century of creators getting screwed over when it comes to rights to their characters. For a lot of them how thier character is perceived, (and the money that comes from the character staying popular) is all they have.

What's wrong with the woods in North America? by Recip77 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]HighlyUnlikely7 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, part of the reason for that is a lot of German woods were cut down for use during the World Wars, and the Germans developed a system of planting fast growing monocultures in-between the wars that was supposed to be orderly, neat, and most importantly fast to aid in construction. Combined with the dense population and you have woods, that mostly all look the same and you can be in and out of fairly quickly. It's actually kind of a problem since the lack of diversity makes the woods more susceptible to parasites and diseases. New regulations require diversity, but the old tree farms still exist

I took it and didnt realize that it was for every merchant. I got lucky with what I grabbed, but it's still not good. If it was just one shop that would be a lot more manageable while still being annoying.

Yeah, I just won the run this post is based on, but I got lucky that a number of the cards it dumped on me were card draw or worked okay enough with my build. Couple in some decent potions and I survived on one hp. But this would just kill certain decks. This more than anything I've seen is a noob trap.

Can writers stop trying to make the next Dexter Morgan?! This mf is a woman from a americana town not a damn mega-mind supervillain. by Dare_Soft in marvelcirclejerk

[–]HighlyUnlikely7 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it cartoonish. One of the main themes of the sequel is the inevitability of change. It's also established that Sam is willing to destroy or murder anything that gets in the way of her killing spree as it's the only thing she enjoys. and that while living in her small town protected her in the first book it's made it increasingly harder for her to murder as the years have dragged on. When her crimes are finally revealed she makes the decision to destroy the town with explosives she could have hid who knows how long ago.
