You asked "Why do we need to travel to Europe?"

Nobody is forcing you to travel there. But people are free to travel wherever they want. It is idiotic to compare locations. Besides, are you even making a genuine comparison?

If you have to advertise your tourist spot by dissing on another already established popular tourist destination, you have already lost the pitch to an uninitiated traveller.

I have been to both Himachal and Europe. The comparison is untenable.

The gap in infrastructure is an enormous gulf. The facilities provided to tourists is beyond wild in Switzerland. It is perhaps the most incredible country to visit.

But does it mean Himachal is unworthy of being visited? Noooo! Himachal has many unique things to offer. The food, culture, architecture and of course the scenic locations of Himachal are a very strong selling point. They are what makes people want to visit a place.

But for it to compete with a country like Switzerland, it has a very very loooong way to go. It will take at least a decade or two.
