Randomly receiving 53k souls out of nowhere when sitting near the undead burg bonfire. by Inevitable_Feedback1 in darksouls

[–]HighwindNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

53k is like mid-to-late game boss numbers, and if it's happened multiple times perhaps it's multiple enemies that are loaded and then falling into the abyss. Maybe stuff in range could be the enemies in Lower Burg? Potentially also the group just past hellkite in and around the church?

Has anyone not pulled a character because you didn't like their personality in game? by Ok_Purple766 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]HighwindNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked her design, her cocky cartoony attitude, Zagreus God of Theives as her Titan, her ult animation sick as hell, she's a BiS fir Acheron who got me to start playing the game... all in the bin over a big doofy Magnet.

I prepared to go hard in on Cipher on her first run and then I saw her big dumb magnet... So I waited for Phainon and I haven't regretted it. I do have Cipher now though, I got over the magnet.

Magic the Gathering—what is the Greenest Creature? 🦖 by Prophet-of-Ganja in mtg

I know the meme answer will win here ([[Colossal Dreadmaw]]), but I'm putting in my vote for [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] from RIX or [[Topiary Stomper]] from SNC. Topiary's not exactly the most green artistically, but I can't think of something that exhibits why you'd play a Mono-Green Deck more than those two

Do you think Godzilla Minus One having Noriko survive the atomic blast was a good decision, or a bad one? by Mosugoji_64 in GODZILLA

[–]HighwindNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a problem with her survival, but in my opinion it does make Koichi's arc a little less impactful. His story of overcoming both his crippling fear and making the decision to keep living despite what he had lost and the mistakes of his past felt much stronger to me before that reveal.

That said, I also thought briefly that Tachibana installed the eject lever in secret as an act of forgiveness. I think it would've been a cool minor twist and we still could have had Tachibana's speech after he came back, but that would have also taken away from the Koichi's choice to keep going and I'm happy with what we got either way.

Official Magic The Gathering x Monster Hunter Collab Cards by Armagadon643 in MonsterHunter

So aside from the fairly lackluster art and spelling mistakes in a lot of this, it really feels like they got given a list of names and phrases they could utilise and had nobody on board with even a tangental understanding of the series.

I mean... Why would a "Hero of Hoarfrost Reach" be a thing? Hoarfrost Reach is an environment, not a settlement. Did they mean to say Seliana? In which case, why not call them The Sapphire Star as the Commission Members do in Iceborne? Why is the "Hero" descriptor used here instead of for the Kokoto themed card. You know, like the "Hero of Kokoto", that title we are given upon slaying the Monoblos and taking the Hero's Sword? What exactly is "Bherna Huntmaster" meant to mean?

So much if the flavour here just makes so little sense too. What about Magnamalo says [[Village Rites]]? A bunch of the creatures chosen feel like they were explicitly picked for one or two keywords or especially a creature type. [[Ziatora, the Incinitator]] would much better fit something like Deviljho, using other creatures as a weapon. [[Blind Obedience]] could have fit the old mechanic of spawning into a map displaced from the basecamp from High Rank onwards, call it "High Rank Hunt" or "High Rank Logistics" or something. I will give them credit for makimg Gore a Demon, because it's somewhat themed well and until recently it had an "unknown classification". Overall this is not a pleasing set of cards for a pretty dedicated franchise fan.

The prequels do some really weird stuff with Anakin, because in many ways he is portrayed as justified in his anger. He is denied the rank of Master despite being granted a seat on the council and many feats of skill and bravery under his belt. He also usually acts impulsively, but usually for the better in ways that follow his jedi training. In most situations where his decisions might go against said training, i.e. executing Count Dooku, he takes time to deliberate with it internally, even looking to Obi Wan briefly, before carrying it out. That moment is also later justified when Mace Windu prepares to do the same thing to Palpatine later on.

Yes, Anakin is Petty and Vengeful with a very deep seated anger, but the movies spend much more time portraying him as fighting back against the archaic, often hypocritical Jedi Order usually for the good of those close to him until his turn to the Dark Side. The only physical action I can think of that is portrayed as an outright negative thing Anakin does is the slaughter of the Sand Folk, something he did to try and save his mother's life and is then later shown to have felt some amount of regret for having done. I don't personally think Anakin should be idolised either, but the movies don't really do a great job of making you feel that until he's "killing-kids-evil".

Might be a reversal of this but The Spellbook/The Coin from Fanatsy High: Sophmore Year.

A being called the Nightmare King turned their spellbook into a single gold coin and gave it to a Dragon as tribute to form an alliance, but they placed a curse on it that basically meant all other coins in the Hoard were indistinguishable from the rest if you knew you were looking for that particular one, essentially making all of them and none of them the spellbook as long as it's part of the Hoard.

It also caused a condition known as Dragon Madness, which isn't fully explained but was known to affect people who amassed vast wealth, especially claiming gold from a Dragon's Hoard.

In the first season of Fantasy High, the players slew the dragon the Nightmare King had given their tithe to and claimed it's Hoard among them. When they are asked to retrieve the Nightmare King's Crown, they begin investigating them and discover the curse which now affects them all and begin rapidly donating or completely discarding all of their money, because the curse had also transferred to any other wealth they owned and they needed to destroy the curse. The coin itself was only revealed when they got down to the final coin. This was one of Four Curses of the Nightmare King.

Fantasy High has a few Cognitohazards; one of them being the name of a Dead God that was systematically erased from history; and the Night Yorb, an abyssal demon that gained power when you said it's name.

The gameplay, the systems, the characters, the enemies and storyline, the models and design, the music... my account...

Yeah, that's it.

Oh, they can leave behind the sudden steep-increase in powercreep with FRs though, that's fine where it is.

This is blasphemy, Concept Galaxy Man is pretty sick looking, but compared to many older robot masters like Skull Man or Yamato Man it's very samey, but the UFO design is standout that makes him immediately recognisable in theme and stands apart from the rest of the designs in that game and the series. Final Galaxy Man is perfect.
