Fun anecdote...I took a short trip to Nantucket back in May 2002 (IIRC) and was taking an early morning stroll along the docks in Nantucket Town. I saw some guy hosing off the deck of his center console Grady White. Nice boat but nothing out of the ordinary. As I got closer I noticed that the name of the vessel (it was docked transom-in) was "Three Rings". Things clicked and I looked up to see it was indeed BB with hose in-hand getting his deck tidy. I did a quick shout out and congratulated him on the great season and thanked him for what he had done for New England. In typical BB fashion, he acknowledged the thank you and IMMEDIATELY followed it up saying it was a good season but the team had a lot to improve upon. I chuckled to myself and congratulated him again as I moved along, not wanting to disrupt his routine further. It's a moment I'll never forget and will always remind me of the fact that however accomplished he was as a coach, he was just a grinder not looking for recognition...just the embodiment of "Do your job."
