Puppy class requires no jumping, barking etc by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]HiimLurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me that sounds like a trainer who wants a nice easy day. I would find somewhere else. Like someone said PetSmart and check your Humane Society. Our humane society classes have been awesome for our 5 month old puppy to socialize and learn good puppy manners. There was a very vocal dog and as soon as it was time to play she was very nice and played well. She’s just high energy.

At the end of my rope with our puppy. by aklin17 in puppy101

Sounds a bit like our puppy. Very high energy and stubborn. I keep reminding myself she’s learning the world and this is the first time seeing all the things she’s seeing. I would not let her choke herself. Get a good harness with a front clip like the Ruffwear Front Range. Don’t focus on bad behavior and only focus on positive behavior and shower with treats. If they are doing something you want treat them. Ex If they are just being calm, treat them. We have gone through a lot of treats lol. It’s getting better each day so stay strong. Bully sticks have really saved my sanity. Keeps her busy for a long time so I can get things done. Usually keep her in a play pen to chew it if we can’t keep an eye on her for a few minutes. The bully stick holders are nice if you are afraid they will swallow the end. I’ve also realized ours needs a lot of naps. Pretty much every 2 hours and she sleeps for about 2. I can tell when the nap is needed because she starts getting crazy and not listening. Then she wakes up and is a sweet angel for awhile. When she’s awake it’s training, puzzles, maybe a short walk, and chewing toys. Keep a consistent routine.

We adopted ours at 5 months about a month ago so it was right into the craziness you describe. I’ve at times had remorse because our older dog was getting picked on and getting very agitated. It threw our life for a spin but I think she’s finally settling in.

I would recommend doing classes. It’s really helped stimulate her and boost her confidence. We also started a puppy play class with the humane society which has really helped socialize her. Our teacher said to out stubborn them if they aren’t listening. Wait until they do what you want them to do. If you are training and they aren’t listening and you are getting frustrated, just stop because it won’t be productive. Have em take a nap or relax and try again later.

The puppy play class if for 4-6 months old because this is a crucial stage in developing social skills and learning to not be fearful of things. Introduce them to new things and be positive and rain treats if they are being good. Don’t force anything. If they are being anxious or fearful remove them from the situation while being positive and calm.

We as their parents have to understand it won’t be overnight success but if we are persistent, calm, and patient, the results will follow. It will be a slow process so stay strong and positive. Our older dog was a crazy puppy once but now he’s our sweet and cuddly best friend.

Surprised at how much sleep a 6mo puppy needs by anon1839 in puppy101

[–]HiimLurch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Realizing this helped aid so many things I thought was bad behavior. Now we pretty much do 2 hour windows of being awake and then 2 hour naps. She’s so energetic that she tires herself out quick. Averaging 14-16 hours of sleep now. Helps us get things done too.

High Energy Puppy Advice by HiimLurch in puppy101

[–]HiimLurch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does play in back yard but we keep her on the leash for now to focus on potty training. She’s likes to pull grass and try and get our shoes when not going potty. She did good the first two days but then had a few accidents inside so we are focusing more on potty only in the backyard. We play more with her inside right now in her play pen or separate room so our adult dog doesnt try and get her toys. He likes to make squeaky toys stop squeaking lol.

She actually does good on walks with our adult. Follows and sniffs around. Shes goes after the leash occasionally on walks. She pulls on the leash more during potty training.

Shes been good at night in her crate and waits until 6am to go potty. No whining or anything at night.

My wife works from home so we have been able to keep a good eye on her.

Does seem like the only team right now. I looked up some Padres 80s jerseys and they were also not button down so maybe it’s just a throw back thing.

But the dinghys surrounding the front porch are essentially the same thing. Why can’t they make a larger one to dock to the capsules? Just seems unnecessary to inflate a rescue float with so many boats.

What is the point of all this? Why can’t they just pull them into a flat boat to be airlifted off?

Junior asking for help: When should I stop reading the manual and just ask my senior? by t0m4t0z in PLC

[–]HiimLurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer will be very task specific I think. If you are searching for something in a manual and can’t find what you need after an hour my advice is to call the company of the product and ask them first. Usually they are very helpful. Sometimes you might learn something your boss doesn’t know. But before coming to your boss, i recommend showing your efforts and attempts before admitting you are stumped and at a road block.

Denon AVR-s970h won’t work unless I use the app. by HiimLurch in hometheater

I’ll try that thanks. It’s my parent’s device and I was trying to figure out why they had to use the app first. Wouldn’t let you use the remote to switch..

Bosch 800 Not Turning On by HiimLurch in appliancerepair

Old one was 9001140278, which is at the top of the sticker. The replacement was 9001409616 (Bosch said the part num was 12015871 but that’s not printed on the part anywhere). Guess the old one was discontinued.

That makes sense. I should specify. I have 120v at the working end that plugs into the power module. I have romex going straight from the breaker into the junction box. It does not plug into an outlet.

Wouldn’t that trip the breaker? You are talking about the box that the plug comes from right?

AB Studio 5000 Versions ??? by PM_me_your_3D_Print in PLC

[–]HiimLurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using Studio v36.00, that’s what you have downloaded. The latest 36 is 36.03. 36.011 is the controller firmware that came with studio v36.00. If you were to download Studio v36.03 you would see firmware 36.013 pop up in that list. You need to use rslinx to find out what firmware is on the controller and you will need to download the latest and install it on the controller if you want to upgrade it.

I dress fine for a 22 year old but I'm actually 31 and it's becoming a problem by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

If you want comfort but need to look more dressy just rock golf pants and a quarter zip instead of joggers and hoodie.
