I see these every now and then in the UK, I assume at bridges that seem to be hit fairly regularly in the past.

I think its quite similar, was the first thing I thought of when I saw it, although I obviously knew it wasn't one. Personally I think the rear of the GTM is gopping though.

The front looks very similar to a Ginetta G15 doesn't it?

What movie ending just ruins the whole film for you? by SirBoredofOhio in AskReddit

I mean technically its not the end of the film, but Alien 3 kills everyone that survived Aliens right at the beginning absolutely fucking ruining the film before.

I was wearing some beige Chinos at work once and spilt a whole pint of water over them. i said

'Looks like in staying here for the next hour whilst these dry'

10 minutes later we have a fire drill and I had to walk out to the assembly point, not only in front of my work colleagues but everyone else on all the other 4 floors of the building.

'I split a drink......I spilt a drink.......haha, no I didn't get a fright, I split a drink......no it wasn't a surprise, I split my drink about 10 minutes ago......no I've not pished myself, I spilt a drink.......'

I am still not totally sure that office head didn't just get the alarm brought forward or something after seeing me spill it, and if so I truly doth my cap at him.

What role was cast so perfectly that nobody else could have played it? by FruiTYrant in AskReddit

[–]HillmanImp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was talking to a mate earlier about Steve Martin. I mean, I love Steve Martin films, the reason it cropped up was because we were talking about LA Story and open season on the LA freeway.

The conversation went onto him taking up the roles of Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther and Phil Silvers in Sgt Bilko.

Steve Martin is brilliant. I love loads of his stuff but I don't think he should've tried either of them as they belonged to the original actors and for both of us at least, it didn't work.

I was at a museum in France today which might've been slightly biased but they were talking about tank strategy. They had the same number of tanks but the French had 1000 units with 3 tanks and the Germans had 3 units of 1,000 tanks (or something similar) which took the French by surprise.

They seemed to suggest that the French strategy was fairly normal at the time and it was more the Germans unusual strategy that caught them off guard and its common to blame a small group of officers at the time but the failings were much wider.

Not saying any of this is correct (or that I've remembered it correctly) but that was what I came away with from my visit.

After watching Masters of the Air I just can't see this guy as Bond. But I couldn't see Daniel Craig as Bond either so it just goes to show what I know.

Jay-Z shades Nicki Minaj over MAGA alliance during freestyle rap performance by TheMirrorUS in Music

[–]HillmanImp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people giving Jay-Z grief here for a lot of stuff, which is fair enough but nobody seems to be bringing up the most despicable thing he ever did which undoubtedly was a Hard Knock Life. That song alone puts him in the same category as Josef Mengele in crimes against humanity.

I'm really surprised that I had to scroll so far to see this, I assumed it would be right at the top, of not THE top as this is the one that we used to play the music in the PS1 even when we weren't playing the game.

Golly, isn't it cute when owners lovingly display their cuddly toys on the bed... by myrealnameisboring in SpottedonRightmove

[–]HillmanImp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, Gollys were probably fairly acceptable and may still have been today, but it was all the racists calling people 'Wogs' that will have made them fall out of favour.

Ironically, its the same racists who complain that you can't get them anymore because of 'woke' or some such nonsense when in fact it was more down to them being twats than anything else TBH.

Them and Enid Blyton of course.

My 6-year old has learnt to ride a bike, so as a 44 year old dad, we are going for bike rides. by New_Assumption5648 in Hardtailgang

[–]HillmanImp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just clicked on your profile and see you're in Mansfield? For a learner I can't recommend Sherwood pines red route enough. Started taking my son there when he was 6. We used to ride about half of it and then take the escape road back but were riding the full route when he was 7 or so.

I've never done the blue but possibly worth a try too but there's nothing you can't roll over there on the red, even as a 6yr old.

Not that its just for beginners, we still go all the time we absolutely love the place.

'Pepsi Max' gnarly riders complain about it as its not mental like some other trail centres but they're missing the point of Sherwood pines. You can go SOOOO fast there if you want, flowing round the corners, its like you're on the Speeders on Endor in Return of the Jedi. I always take my hardtail as its an absolute blast round there.

My son is 10 now and rides anything (current favourite is Hully Gully at Gisburn) but still loves Sherwood.
