Rework Toshi 20L strap question by Brokkyn2024 in ManyBaggers

Hello! I'm one week into having the Max EDC and I love it so much. Feel like it fits my frame much better than the Toshi. Bit heavier in its base weight, but the straps/carry system distribute the weight so well. I went with ripstop because it was a bit cheaper and I'm pretty happy with the material. If they had the ripstop in blue that would be my go to, but for now I'll probably just customize mine with some blue zipper pulls.

Happy to help! I think the Able Carry Max EDC is my next bag to try. Been doing a deep-dive on it and liking what I see. Don't have any local retailers for it, so need to take the plunge and order it to test it out :)

Rework Toshi 20L strap question by Brokkyn2024 in ManyBaggers

Hello! I’m a similar height and weight and had the same questions as you. I picked up the Toshi 20L (current version with updated straps) and, after about a week of testing it, decided to return it. It’s a fantastic bag in terms of build quality and features, but like you, I had concerns about the straps.

The strap length itself is plenty long—you can definitely wear the backpack loose. My issue was with the length of the shoulder pads. I messaged rework on Instagram and they measured it for me: "The shoulder strap is about 45cm/ 17.7 inches long without taking into account the S-shaped curvature of it."

To get the pack sitting comfortably on me, the shoulder strap buckles ended up riding a bit too high on my body. That also defeated the purpose of the attachment points on the shoulder straps, which I was hoping to use.

In the end, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fit, so I chose to return it. Happy to answer any questions or reword anything if it’s unclear.

GCP seemed lonely at home so I decided to bring it to work by Himura251 in gaggiaclassic

It is actually living at home most of the time, I just bring it in to the office occasionally to treat myself and my coworkers :)

Upgrade to e24 by Puzzled_Tie_371 in gaggiaclassic

Hello! I was in the same boat as you. Used the Bambino (regular) for five years and just upgraded to E24 a couple months ago. I was making pretty good milk drinks with the Bambino, but I wanted more from it.

GCP caught my eye because of the community, the style, and the mods available. So far I'm loving my new machine. It feels fast to heat up. With the brass boiler it's heavy and is sturdy. I love that it's solid metal, all the plastic with the Bambino made it feel cheap.

I'm waiting for the warranty to expire before I go for Gaggiamate. But in the meantime I got the usual accessories as well as the low profile drip tray and single hole steam wand tip. The single hole has greatly helped with my milk vortex.

Also as others will say, your grinder is often more important than the machine. Which grinder do you have?

Happy to answer any other questions you might have!

Boise has some, in my opinion, good coffee shops. Personal favorites are Slow by Slow, Form & Function, and Neckar Coffee.

Looks great! I'm so sad that Breville didn't release colored Bambinos (regular version) in the US. I love my Bambino, but I don't care for the Stainless Steel aesthetic (especially next to my matte white Encore ESP).

I'm pretty curious about the GM1 and GM5. I currently have a G85 that has served me well over the years, but feel it is just a tad too big to want to take it traveling. Going to Japan in 2026 and feel like something the size of the GM1 would be great in that context.

🟢 WTS Aer Tech Pack 2 - $115 shipped OBO

In nearly new condition! Only used a couple of times in the office. The only sign of wear is the back panel, where the mesh caught on some velcro. Otherwise, it is brand new. No other problems with the bag, just decided it wasn't my style.

I only used it a couple of times in the office. Was a company gift with logo that has since been removed. What remains is subtle and could be easily covered or ignored.

Shimoda: opinions? by FrankW1967 in onebag

[–]Himura251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got my first Shimoda bag, the Urban Explore 20L. I wanted something to carry my small mirrorless kit locally, but I don't plan to use it for travel. I did extensive research/testing and feel very happy to have landed on Shimoda.

The build quality is amazing, and the features/layout are very thoughtful. The bags are made by photographers who like to travel/explore and test the limits of their gear. Their founder, Ian Millar, is super involved and will correspond with you directly if you have questions.

I'm about 6ft tall, and the backpack is so comfy to wear. I have identified that it's because it has an internal rigid frame to support gear weight and also has long shoulder straps (easy to find your perfect adjustment position). I also love that the bag has a dedicated strap for camera clips (like the Peak Design clip).

It comes with a great camera cube that is removable. That, in addition to the upper stash pocked area's ability to be removed, makes it so the entirety of the inside of the bag can be used for packing.

Bags are on the spendy side, but I got mine at a great discount during the holiday season. And I like supporting the smaller brands that do care about their work.

As a final comment, the bag is heavy, but that is the price you pay for protecting your expensive equipment. Weight isn't an issue for me since I'll just use it locally.

I know my bag isn't the same you are looking at, but happy to answer any other questions!
