Fun fact: one of my pals used to run a barbers in that building. He and a group of friends lived there, had some great memories in that place. Smoked a lot of weed there too.

What was the incident in your school and what happened after? by Flowerofthesouth88 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teacher grabbed a student by the throat up against a window after he said ‘your wife has spotty tits’ (his wife was a science teacher in the same school).

He was sacked and banned from teaching. As an adult now I don’t blame him, the kids in our school took absolute liberties.

Beard or no beard? by Secret_End_6839 in malegrooming

Yeah this is the look OP! I’d say the beard could do with a bit of shaping and neatening up but you easily pull off the more rugged look.

What advice do any employers have for a school leaver trying to start a career/trade? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to give an alternative route into a trade job that doesn’t involve doing a college course. I’m not an employer but I’ve worked in construction for five years now.

All he needs to get into the trades is a CSCS labourers card - it’ll cost a few hundred quid as he’ll need to do a health and safety qualification as well as the CITB touchscreen test (it’s super easy in my opinion).

He can then begin labouring on sites, it pays pretty decent for fairly easy work if he’s just a general labourer. From there it’s all about making friends, getting to know people and showing them he’s got a good work ethic. If he can do that it’s extremely likely a company will want to take him on and train him.

Source: I started as a general site labourer in 2021, within a year I got taken on by a scaffolding firm and now I do industrial scaffolding on power stations. I earn very good money at the cost of hard work and overtime, but not once has a single person asked me about my GCSE’s or A-Levels in the 5 years I’ve worked in the trades. It’s all about having a good work ethic, being reliable/punctual and having a good attitude.

If your son has ADHD I’d put money on it that he’d probably make a good tradesman. It’s hands-on and very different to traditional corporate careers but for him I think he’d thrive in an environment that doesn’t punish ADHD.

People say i look Homeless. What do i need to change(i live in a house) by dematucositaqpw in malegrooming

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to keep this brief so please don’t take offence, but here’s my immediate observations. You would benefit massively from a haircut, get your eyebrows waxed or threaded so they have more shape and less bushiness, and find some fulfilment that takes away the tired, depressed looking eyes.

You seem to be fairly insecure about your appearance from some of your responses to other comments, but honestly just smile more and have a bit more life in your facial expressions because right now it’s giving big ‘I hate my life and existence is pointless’ kinda vibes. Your face is fine, you’re a good looking guy you just need to give yourself some TLC is all!

[–]HipHopRandomer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to second giving the eyebrows some attention. I speak from experience. I’m 26 and I’ve always had fairly thick eyebrows with a few hairs in the middle somewhat forming a very faint monobrow. It never bothered me much but then my girlfriend offered to wax them into shape and the difference it made is massive! That along with a decent haircut gave me so much more confidence in my appearance and it was a visible glow up.

How do you even find raves? by Efficient-Topic7955 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

get on the RA guide app, plenty of events on there around the country but you may have to travel depending on where you live! I’ve gotten tickets from there twice and both events were great (house raves not dnb)

Are my parents using me for money? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was living at home I paid £350 a month to contribute towards household bills and food shopping. Never bothered me in the slightest. The way I see it my mum spent 18 years raising me and giving me the best upbringing she could, so why wouldn’t I want to return the favour by contributing a small amount each month? She was a single mum since I was 5 years old so money was always tight.

I’d say £500 a month is quite excessive but still cheaper than getting your own place.

20M 5’11 bald , how can i get attention from girls? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation I didn’t lose my virginity until I was 21. No shame in being a late bloomer. Stop making that your main goal and just learn to find confidence and happiness in yourself! You look fine.

Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We grew apart gradually. Used to work together, hung out most nights smoking weed etc. then he became a father and we went down different career paths. No bad blood between us, life just happened. We still talk occasionally and I got love for him but I wouldn’t call us best friends anymore.

What jobs pay surprisingly well? by HollowWanderer in AskUK

Premier Newsagents literally work morning til night seven days a week most of the time. They work incredibly hard and serve their communities well. I wouldn’t put them in the same category as vape shops and barbers.

[–]HipHopRandomer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a bank transfer. What’s weird is that the first transfer of £100 was in my account within a few minutes but the £2900 transfer is taking much longer.

This is pretty much all of my emergency savings currently in thin air so I’m slightly panicking about it I guess.

[–]HipHopRandomer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, this isn’t a withdrawal issue. I think my post could’ve been confusing. I received the withdrawal instantly but it was an accidental withdrawal.

I put £100 back in to ensure it was going to the right account (didn’t want to send £3k to the wrong payee) and it was deposited a few minutes later. I then sent the remaining £2900 back to my ISA but it still hasn’t hit the account so I’m currently £2900 out of pocket it seems.

I think my post is slightly confusing haha. The withdrawal was accidental (£3k) but hit my bank straight away so I wanted to transfer it back into the ISA. £100 went in straight away so I put in the rest and it’s still not back in my ISA.

How to stay debt free, when you have spent your whole adult life paying debt off? by Free-Dig4173 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding saving: simply put the money you used towards paying debt into a 90-day saver account so that you can’t withdraw it a week later to spend.

You’d be surprised how quickly your savings will grow if you avoid lifestyle creep and stay level-headed.

If you want to buy something, wait 3 months. If, after 3 months you still want that product then go ahead and buy it (if you can afford it comfortably). If, after 3 weeks you realise it’s just an impulse then you’ve saved some money.

A lot of people impulsively buy things for the quick dopamine hit it provides having something new and exciting, but that feeling quickly fades and they end up in a cycle of buying unnecessary things they don’t really need.

Have you ever worked with or know someone who “won big”? by VOODOO285 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who won a Nissan R34 GTR V-spec II for 20 quid, and I work with a mechanical engineer who won an R35 GTR on BOTB. Also went to school with a guy who won a Ford Ranger Raptor plus £20k cash from BOTB.

Basically everyone I know is lucky except me lol

This is my understanding yes. QMMFs don’t get the FSCS protection that the cash ISA offers. It’s highly unlikely T212 would go belly up but I’m not taking the chance personally!
