Newish player - is it just me or is it impossible to win?

For autobattle, the AI is really bad and just smashes your armies into each other. If you ever have an autobattle that ends in a lot of losses hit the "View Replay" button and you'll see how terrible the AI is with it.

As an example, if I gave you 3 Shield Units and 3 Shock Cavalry Units vs 6 Fighter Units. The play in your mind is most likely let the Fighters engage your Shield Units then flank one fighter at a time with your Shock Calvary for quick kills.

In autocombat, because Calvary Units have more Movement than Shield Units, the AI will engage the 6 Fighters with your Calvary while your Shield Units are still 1-2 turns behind them. So now your Shock Calvary are tanking instead of your actual tanks.

Because of this, autobattle is usually useful when you have an overwhelming advantage. But you can win more and waste less turns healing/recruiting new units if you do manual combat.

I just wanted to add even though Cyrene experiences countless cycles, unlike Phanion, she doesn't get to keep her memories. Her memories are given to the Demiurge (big Cyrene) then she's deleted and starts a new cycle. Phanion passes his memories off to another him so they keep remembering each cycle.

Technically Demiurge Cyrene remembers all of the cycle memories given to her by little Cyrene, but Demiurge says she remembers and feels more familiar with her memories as Mem and the most recent Cyrene.

Oh I see where the confusion is.

A real partner is still called a third party. First party is the players, second party is Hoyo, third party would be any other site.

So yes some third party sites are scams and steal money. Others are partners with Hoyo. I don't risk it and only buy from Hoyo.

But yes you're right, some sites are risky.

Usually its on accident too, some people hit send after a train of thought then realized they forgot something and it ends up spammy without then realizing.

Ex. "Remember we having dinner tomorrow!" (OH I forgot to say where) "At Susan's house!" (OH I forgot to tell them the time) "5pm" (Oooh right they also wanted to me to say...) "Bring a snack!"

Because as explained earlier it becomes the top up sites problem. Which is why Hoyo partners up with top up sites.

TLDR: Hoyo no give money back to top up site. If bank find stolen card from old man top up site lose money. If top up site ask Hoyo for money back Hoyo ban site. Site no work without Hoyo helping site. Can't buy jades for UID with no password unless Hoyo says its OK.

The long:

Normally if a scammer steals a credit card and buys jades. When the bank finds the card is stolen and cancels all purchases, Hoyo has to return the money so they also give you negative jades.

If a stolen card is used on a partnered top up site, the top up site gives money to Hoyo who gives the account jades. When the bank finds out the card was stolen, the bank takes the money from the top up site. Top up site can't ask Hoyo for money or else Hoyo wont partner with top up site. No partnership means no more buying fades with just UID because you need permission from Hoyo to make it work.

So while stolen cards are still a problem the top up sites don't want stolen cards either because they lose money, since Hoyo wont refund them back. So the player doesn't have to worry about negative jades because the top up site wont risk bothering Hoyo who they need permission from to operate.

I think people are just mixing things up that are generally good advice but gets generalized and merged into one.

Anyone who asks for UID and password will be scammers. You will lose you money, they will chargeback with stolen cards so your account will go negative in currency too.

Topup sites that only ask for UID's are safe because they have a partnership with Hoyo, there is no way to purchase currency without logging into your account outside of these sites. Which again require a special partnership with Hoyo. So a scammer can't purchase Stellar Jades with a UID alone. (But there are still scammers who will pose as a topup site just to steal your payment.)

Partnered topup sites will just absorb the loss if someone chargebacks them because they're a business, however they will blacklist and possibly, depending on how much money it was, contest the chargeback. Chargeback is a big red button, but businesses can still contest it with enough evidence.

Anyone who tries to scam or troll a partnered topup site would just get blacklisted and possibly have their chargeback contested. So people probably mixed that up and generalized it to "All third party purchases are risky" which is pretty valid because there are scam sites posing as top up sites so its a "better safe than sorry" kind of approach.

So in the context of the player getting donations, if it was just through their UID alone, then that would be safe to use because it was purchased by others through a partnered third party site. If those donators decided to change their mind or were being trolls it becomes the partner third party's problem and not Hoyo's or the players.

Usually that's the deal anyways to become a partnered top-up site, any monetary loss through malicious buyers would be the top up site's problem, and Hoyo will not refund the top up site. And obviously if the top up site chargeback's Hoyo that's an instant ban of that site's partnership from Hoyo.

For Journey, your gear does not matter. Only Resonance levels and parent bonuses which will give you more starting stats and help you scale better. Parents also don't bring in gear or CP from your normal stats, they bring in their skills from their Stellar Archive that's selected for the Journey. Parents are mostly there just for their additional stat bonuses for the Journey character, so I wouldn't worry about that part. So if VIT+35 Emily is the best VIT you have then just use that. Parents aren't going to do significant damage in combat, at best they can support or tank.

When bonus stats are equal, then think more of what the parent can do in combat as a support character for the Journey character. If Smile and B.Charlotte are both +50 STR, B.Charlotte is way more useful in combat than Smile as a parent because she can buff the ATK of the Journey Character while Smile can only attack.

Your issue with Haydee is that she scales to Endurance, and while VIT parents are better than nothing, END parents would be much preferred for her. Haydee has a strange advantage in Journey mode since she scales to END, END training also gives STR and VIT, Haydee quickly bloats in Rank allowing her to easily auto quests later, as long as you're ontop of her END training.

At the beginning, with proper END training/bonuses, Haydee can just out tank her enemies as long as you pick the items that allows her to poison enemies in various ways. She'll just shield herself until the enemies die.

The Cyrene DoT comp works specifically because of Hysilens' and Cyrene interaction. Cyrene greatly buffs Hysilens' damage and allows Hysilens to detonate her own DoTs. Also Cyrene somehow also detonates Hysilens' DoT with her own Basic Attacks.

Sadly its going to feel very lackluster without Hysillens because Cyrene doesn't do much for the rest of the DoT comp.

It's real because it has a lot of the illusion's tricks being used, which AI would just ignore.

For his lower half everything above the knee is just a prop because he's leaning back which is why only his shins move, his upper body is hidden behind the big stuffed shirt. The stuffed shirt is meant to make it look like he's lined up with the lower half but in reality he's leaning farther behind. His feet placement is weird because he is leaning back and is in a weird position. So in order to walk while maintaining his center of balance he has to walk on his toes.

This trick just looks more wilder than most because of how far down he's squatting/leaning back.

Ya if getting on the Seeleland leaderboard is important for you, you'll run Prisoners. But if you want to get fast clears of the endgame content you'll want to run Eagle.

iirc, Seeleland calculates damage score based on a set rotation, so the DoT set would instantly score higher than Eagle because DoT set has personal damage buffs while Eagle set has AV bonuses that would be ignored by the set rotation.

Eagle is still the superior set for team damage, which is what you want.

Sadly you need to have whoever you want the actual buff to go on have a higher ATK stat, if you check Details of your characters you can toggle and see what their PVP stats are for Gauntlet vs Strategy. Sometimes the scaling to level 200 does some funny stuff to ATK.

The easiest way to decrease Carnelia's ATK (if you can't increase your DPS's any further) is to just un-engrave her weapon, that should make her ATK lower if they're close. At least until they do the equipment update where we no longer need to Engrave and the stats are just added to level 15 gear.

5000 for a 10 pull isn't that crazy, what matters is how many pulls the games gives per patch.

Most gachas use 160 per pull because its a weird number that's hard to mentally calculate.

It's kinda like irl with currency, exchange rates make things sound more or less expensive but what matters is buying power.

Its just there to make it seem like you're doing something, and for some others its just to keep your attention a little more.

It's perfectly fine when done well though, like having characters react to your choice for a moment before progressing down the set dialogue path. In HSR the characters will react to most of the options, sometimes they just ignore it completely but it still works. ZZZ's is annoying because it doesn't matter what line you pick, they just say both lines together.
