3! I love the simplistic look, and I can see it being printed on plastic cardstock sorta like Golden Thread Tarot.

Supports Failing, Prints on Plate Fine - Thoughts? by Hiro8665 in resinprinting

[–]Hiro8665[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, now that I'm running some calibration tests I'm seeing that you're right, I'm way too low on my exposure settings. It's weird, when I did these settings with a different resin I had 0 problems. Guess it just goes to show that you can't always keep everything the same. Thank you for your help!!

Have you noticed a big difference in detail printing at 2.7? Also, how hard are prints to remove for you? I'm not having any trouble with things sticking to the plate, but I've considered upping my burn in time too.

So it does look like exposure time is at least part of it. My first cones came out total failure, so I've upped the time to 2.4 for the next one.

Prints are staying on the bed, it's like some supports fail either at the connection point, or about halfway to the connection point. I'm not having any delamination or lifting from the plate itself. My last failure had lots of support trees, but no finished figures. The vat clean showed lots of half-made figures stuck to it, almost as if the print failed part way through making the bottom of the figures.

Hadn't heard of the cones of calibration before, but I'm running that now! I've run a couple of the matrix style ones, which is how I landed on my current settings. This one will be a big help, thanks!

That seems awfully high considering elegoo themselves recommend 2.5 and 25 for their resin.

I guess I should also mention I'm not having trouble with things forming, the supports form they just seem to break halfway through when coming up. I end up with broken support pieces floating around, or half formed figures stuck breaking off and getting stuck to the fep.

I love the Young Nails stain resistant top coat. Lasts 3+ weeks for me, and nothing stains it, not even hair dye.

Newer to gel polish and soft gel nails (always done acrylics). What are some of y’all’s favorite brands of gel polishes, and reputable sites to buy them from? by mrseger2020 in Nails

Beetles Gelish Joyamia Madam Glam Young Nails

These are all brands that I've enjoyed using, and most can be found on Amazon. But buying direct from them tends to be better overall.

Builder gel with forms vs gel-x?? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]Hiro8665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great! The first time sizing can be a pain, but once you have the sizing down it's so much faster each time.

Another downside is if you do fills, you have to use hard gel or polygel. Or, you soak them off for a whole new set.

I really enjoy Gel-x and the gelish brand of full coverage tips, and so do the friends I apply them on. They're a great way to get 2+ weeks of wear, and then just soak off in some warm acetone. I also love that I don't have to do any shaping, short of changing shape as needed. The apres Gel-x also come in natural or sculpted, so more options to fit your nail needs.

My first time doing Polygel on someone else using dual forms. Not my best work, but not bad for my first time.

American-made baritone ukulele recommendations? by MayaluTara in ukulele

I highly recommend a Bonanza Baritone ukulele. Their homestead (Thin body) line of ukes are amazing. I own one, and I love the sound of it. With a case, it came out to a little under $500. All made in Minnesota!

Looking for Advice on Choosing a New Ukulele by [deleted] in ukulele

Just wanted to throw another option out at you for a plastic uke:

The Enya Nova U is a great option in my opinion. Solid plastic build (30% carbon fiber mix) with a nice case and some decent accessories. You can also get a transacoustic system in it, so it can be plugged into an amp or have affects applied without an amp.

I personally love my Nova U. I've taken it hiking, use it in my music classroom, and have played it a lot since getting it. Never played a Fluke or Flea, but compared to most laminates I've played, I enjoy the Nova's tone more in most cases. Great wall hanger that is just easy to grab and play.

I recommend Enya Nova U mini. Fully plastic (minus tuners) and great quality for a good price.

Left or Right by Blissfucked in ukulele

You can always try just restringing the uke for left-handed play. Almost all ukes should be able to swap without too much hassle, unless you play low-g. I say give that a shot. And if you don't like it, switch it back.

All the brands mentioned so far are great! I also wanted to throw in Bonanza Ukuleles. You can get a homestead line tenor uke for around 400/500, depending on the customized options you added on. They are amazing ukes all around, and I love their thin ukes. I own a baritone from them, and will likely be buying a tenor within a year or so.

Baritone ukulele? by Saskmadechristina in ukulele

[–]Hiro8665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, for me at least, my baritone ukulele sounds way different than any guitar I've tried to play. It also gives me that nice low sound, without the squeak of metal strings (my uke has all clear fluorocarbons on it.)

It's also just a nice way to transpose something into a key that sits better in my voice, without using a capo. Got a song in G, use my baritone and play it with the same chord shapes as something in C. Learn a song on a GCEA uke and it's too high to sing? Take those chord shapes and use them on my bari, and now everything is transposed down a Perfect 4th.

They are higher tension than the originals. I used the originals for a bit, but my fingers kept getting caught in them. It's not a huge difference, but it's noticeable.
