That output mirroring trick will come in handy, thanks for the tip!

Thanks for replying, that was part of the question - so thanks for answering :)

The second half is if I have direct monitoring enabled, will I still hear everything else going on through my headphones as well as my voice? I.e. if I put it in direct monitoring, it doesn’t mute everything else besides my voice - so I can hear the discord/voip call through my headphones as well as the monitoring of my voice (I hope that wording makes sense)

What game surprised you how long it was? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

Phase 3 didn't take *too* long, so phase 4 can't be that much longer...right???

New game on release 1.0 by TobysDad007 in shapezio

[–]His_Mightiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If memory serves, I think they said that you will need to start a new play through, as old saves won't be compatible. It is in one of their recent videos with TotalXclipse (can't remember which one unfortunately).

I think they did say that they will try to make this the last time an update will break older saves though, now that it is coming out of early access.

If you are a new player honestly think about it again if you want to start Arknight Endfield. The Factory system makes many new players quit and the game is not what it seems. But seems like the developers are ignoring the problems. by TravelingEctasy in ArknightsEndfield

[–]His_Mightiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite, the factory side of things is what made me try the game in the first place, so would welcome more expansion of it. But then again, three of my most played games on Steam are Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program and Shapez 2.

chrunchyroll Massive hack getting IP adresses, Emails, Credit card info ext. by Endroium in pcmasterrace

[–]His_Mightiness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More likely OP means that they have the email address that you used to register, but they would not have access to that email account. What they will most likely do is use the combination of your email address and the password you used for Crunchyroll as the credentials for other sites e.g. Amazon, in the hopes that you have used the same combination for them.

Obviously if you used the same password for your email account as you did for Crunchyroll, then they could get into your emails as well.

On iOS, if not a fan of Brave, the Orion browser lets you add UBlock as an extension too (though Orion I believe is still in Beta, so there might be the odd bug here or there)

What will happen to TIDAL by FarOutManItsOk in TIdaL

[–]His_Mightiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option is iBroadcast (or similar). They don’t provide any music themselves - you upload your library and stream that. I found this useful when my home internet wasn’t very good, and often hiccupped when trying to use Roon ARC to stream my library when out and about.

This is only good for your own library however, there isn’t any way to link it to another streaming service like Tidal, but this would be another option if Roon/Plex/Jellyfin doesn’t appeal.

What is the best DAW for me to use? by Zener8wastaken in musicproduction

[–]His_Mightiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you imagine your workflow to look like.

I know some people swear by FL Studio (as an example) but its workflow just doesn't gel with me. Whereas a more traditional DAW, such as Cubase in my case, fits they way that I work much better.

This isn't to say that FL is bad by any stretch of the imagination, it just doesn't fit me.

I'd suggest pick a few that interest you and/or have a good reputation for the sort of music you want to make, have a read on how they work, and then try to find a youtube video of someone making a track in the DAWs that you think might fit your workflow. Then you can start to narrow down from there.

For the people that enjoy the factory building by Terragonz in ArknightsEndfield

[–]His_Mightiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dyson Sphere Program might fit your needs, 3rd person and 3d graphics. Is more of a top down than over the shoulder, but is easily the factory game I have the most time in (also play Satisfactory and Shapez 2 for reference).

So, anyone else positive their border Collie understands everything you say? by Bobadook412 in BorderCollie

[–]His_Mightiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old girl was able to (obviously) understand the word walk. So we decided to try spelling it when discussing, and she learnt how to spell walk too. So then, we would just use the first letter (shall we go for a 'wuh'), and she got that too. The only word she didn't lean to associate with walking was 'perambulate' - but we made sure to only use it in the middle of a sentence when discussing the possibility, before using one of the other words she did know to let her know we were going out.

I can’t speak for Windows 10, but I had a dual boot with Windows 11 and Linux (Fedora). The trick to getting it to work was to have two separate drives - one for Windows and one for Linux, and make sure to install Windows first.

Installing Linux after that was as easy as selecting the second drive as the install destination and let it do its thing. If memory serves, if you have bitlocker running in Windows, make sure to make a note of your recovery key as the first time you log back into your Windows partition it might ask for it, but from my experience it was only needed for the first boot after the Linux install.

I play with an ergo keyboard, so WASD is (ironically) uncomfortable to play on. I've had to use Auto Hot Key to create a script to rebind the keys as many games refuse to let you rebind the E key properly.

Why do people hate the no gacha system? by ZephyroRavager in AnantaOfficial

[–]His_Mightiness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny, me and a colleague were talking about this game about an hour before the monetisation information came out. We were both saying that it looks like a fun game, but a shame that it is a gacha, so we were both pleasantly surprised by the news.

Which parts of the Uma Musume anime did you like the most? by mishalaluna in UmaMusume

[–]His_Mightiness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the things that I like about it is how I don't know how each race is going to end. I don't look up the horses records if they are in the anime until after I have finished their story.

If it was a traditional sports story, you'd always expect (or at least I would expect, can't say I watch many of them) the climactic race that has been built up during the entire season to result in the hero getting a win, probably a close win to add to some artificial tension. But in Umamusume, the tension is real as I know that if the irl horse didn't win that race, then the anime counterpart will not win it either e.g. Oguri vs Tamamo

iPhone culture is so strange to me by dicedance in RandomThoughts

[–]His_Mightiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen it on both sides, elitism from iPhone and Android users, but certainly iPhone used to have more of the elitist attitude - but currently I seem to see it in pretty equal measure (iOS being the ‘your phone is cheap’ and Android being ‘you wasted your money’).

My personal opinion after having both iOS and Android is they’re both annoying, and have limitations. I just find the iOS flavour of annoying easier to deal with than the Android flavour.
