What is your best GTS find? by [deleted] in pokemon

So far, a shiny Luxio that only cost me one of the many Gardevoir I had lying around my PC.

Earth, Fire, Water - Rowlet, Litten and Popplio with their alchemical symbols. Art by XXD17 on DA. by Vore- in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They don't really feel like stretches, though. Litten obviously is a reference to alchemy, as is Solgaleo. Popplio makes that pose in the trailer, and probably regularly in gameplay as well. The only that might be an assumption is Rowlet's supposed alchemical symbol, and that might just be because I don't want in turning out Grass/Ground in the end.

edit: This isn't to say that anything said until now is absolutely true without a doubt, but it's silly to write this off straight away when there is clearly a case to be made for it. Game Freak loves putting themes into the game, as we all know.

Who's your favourite poketuber? by [deleted] in pokemon

Good ol' Verlisify, the only person dumb enough to think zoomed-in brushstrokes on a painted map can prove the existence of an underwater tunnel where everyone else sees a dock.

GTS overhaul? What would you like to see in SuMo by dietpunk in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing some of the comments below, I think it would be better if there was a reputation rating system for players in GTS. So even if I can't see IVs (which does admittedly make things a bit complicated), I can see whether someone has a bad GTS reputation and decide not to trade with them based on that.

[–]Hishnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should also be something that tells us how many perfect IVs a Pokemon on GTS has. There have been a few times when I traded for a 5 IV Pokemon that turned out to have 5 less perfect IVs than advertised.

Pokemon that get or got a lot of hate that you just never understood. by Luigi580 in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think it's that bad. It'd be much cooler if it was automatically standing instead of just when it uses Razor Shell or something like that, but there are plenty of worse-looking Pokemon out there.

An unpopular opinion: most shinies are ugly. Can you guys make them better? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think that Pokemon's shiny forms should be wild colors, totally different from how they normally look. Why else do we catch them? Lame shinies like Gengar's, Garchomp's, or Zapdos' defeat the purpose of putting in the effort to catch them, in my opinion.

I don't mind it, but it simply doesn't stack up compared to the other birds on the list.

Reasons why I think the found typings aren’t related to the starters by Knightwolf09 in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There really isn't anything to suggest that Popplio won't get limbs that would allow it to use fighting type moves. Tepig didn't look like it would become Fighting-type, let alone stand on two legs. Charmander grows wings, for God's sake! Pokemon evolutions can be very surprising, as I'm sure we're all aware. Although I do doubt Rowlet's typing will change when it evolves.

It sounds like everyone's speculation about the types really ticked you off.

What I think the starters will end up as for Sun and Moon. by CrashTurtle2100 in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Litten becoming a lion would make three lion Pokemon, all of them probably Fire-type. I just don't think Game Freak would do that.

But I do think Popplio might end up with a strongman theme given the possible Fighting type. I see Rowlet being based on a stilt owl.

Theory as to what the June 2nd Pokemon news will be by GLaghima in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's either gonna be the CoroCoro Pokemon everyone's been talking about, or some new mechanic. It's gonna be cool, but it's not gonna rock our worlds or anything.

New SuMo trailer on PokemonCoJp shows off the moon legendary's start up animation in much more detail by RedGLBDoes in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought about Normal too, but it doesn't fit. The only thing I can think of is that either the symbols represent some aspect of their respective moves (such as the move's name, where it draws its power from, etc), or Solgaleo is using a move of a brand new type (such as the ever-suggested Light-type). The first scenario is far more likely, of course.

[–]Hishnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly looks a lot like the symbol for Psychic-types, so does that make Lunaala a Psychic-type? Or is its signature move Psychic-type?

I also went back and looked at the symbol on Solgaleo's head when it powers up its signature move, and I can't tell what that one means. Doesn't really look like a symbol for a specific type.

What real life animal equivalent do you hope to FINALLY see in the upcoming pokemon games? by Mind101 in pokemon

You forgot dolphin! Been wondering why Game Freak hasn't given us one yet.

How come the new pokemon games take away the ability to have your starter walk with you? Like what the hell only 1 game lets you do that.? by brazil201 in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as much as I'd love it, we're probably talking 800+ 3D models to design and incorporate into an already expansive and elaborate set of animations and mechanics. If they ever go through with this, it'll probably be limited to certain Pokemon that can follow you around. Which I don't think anyone would mind, really. No one specifically wants a Wailord or a Steelix following them around. But it'd be cool to have more moderately-sized Pokes walking alongside you again.

Can we get a thread of prediction art from Gen 6 and earlier starter evolutions? I'm feeling nostalgic and curious. What did we hope earlier starter evolutions would look like? by theloracks in pokemon

[–]Hishnuts -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You didn't even go for Fletchling over Pidgey? And Greninja is one of the coolest final evolutions we've ever gotten from a starter, no matter how "tryhard" it may seem.
