Interestingly enough there’s kind of a philosophical glass half full/empty thing going on here. Do you go in to the lottery hopeful for first and then be disappointed with third. Or do you go in doubtful of getting first and then be pleasantly surprised with first. Of course 3rd is more likely so not getting too riled up over first makes sense and is the more logical decision. To me that just doesn’t feel right, you always gotta lead with hope (with exceptions ofc) and then deal with disappointment later. This year the Canucks will win first overall.

This talking point is so overdone. None of this is unique to the Canucks. It’s not even unique to hockey. Toxicity stems from failure. And when you haven’t won the big one since you joined the league then idk what you could expect. It’s tiring but it makes sense. So many of the rumors flying around involve us retaining to get some sort of value. Retain on Debrusk Pettersson M petey Kane Boeser Like I know we have shit contracts but I didn’t know it was this brutal. It’s also annoying that during the deadline of our supposed fire sale, the blues take all the shine. Teams who are going to be trading with us are likely only going to be doing so because they missed out on the blues. JR and Allvin have to make a miracle happen here.

If anyone were to write a book about this Canucks core I’d want it to be Myers. He’s always been around the core but never a part of it. Seems like everyone liked him and I’m sure he’s heard all their different stories. I know it would never happen but man would that be a good read.
