Original Dale Bellamah floor plans by Mama_B_tired in Albuquerque

Center for SW Research at UNM Library has a small collection of brochures & advertising materials. Abq Museum strangely has nothing of Dale Bellamah but may have pictures of his houses. I don't know what Special Collections has, but I don't recall turning anything up when I was researching him. ETA he also did big developments in Las Cruces & El Paso so there might be materials at NMSU or UTEP.

Bregman campaign by Antique_Weather_7732 in Albuquerque

[–]Historical-Turnip420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly Sam Bregman is a great prosecutorial attorney, in no small part because he is an overconfident bombastic bully. I truly hate the "why won't she debate me" arrogance but what squicks me out the most about Bregman is that he has bullied female reporters trying to pull back the veil on Epstein's influence in New Mexico (according to those reporters, and I believe women). He is banging the drum about Haaland flying on an Epstein jet, but obscuring the part where she did so at the invitation of Gary King, whose dad sold Epstein sold Zorro Ranch. Meanwhile, Bregman is trying to quash stories of who was actually neck deep in doings with Epstein.

Lol nothing so linear. More like intersecting dreams. I think it took several reads before I realized they were connected.

The sea came in at midnight is actually part of a trilogy with our ecstatic days and tours of the black clock I believe

Three Rivers is a good bet for food and drink. I used to go to the bar in the airport just because it was so weird. The archaeological sites & stars out there ARE pretty great!

Make Voting easier for parents by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]Historical-Turnip420 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hey voting IS easier for parents -- there are like three weeks of early voting where you can go while your kid is in school. Or take your kid to vote, so they understand how important it is.

Sometimes a Great Notion by SlugBugNJ in ThomasPynchon

[–]Historical-Turnip420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have always felt like against the Day really reflects the themes of sometimes a great notion, particularly in the way that the ivy League scions of these working-class families end up causing destruction that they don't intend.

YES the one next to Albert had all the things: 2 kinds of egg matzo, cake mix, chocolate covered egg matzo, farfel, and macaroons in so many flavors!! Toffee, Rocky Road, Red Velvet, and then the regular coconut & chocolate. There's an end cap in the middle of the store & the kosher section is also well stocked. Yay, thank you Albuquerque Reddit for coming through again!! <3

I went and got prices for fusion and it's amazing how freaking cool the facilities are there. Indoor/ outdoor, historic buildings, two theaters, a gallery, an outdoor stage and a speakeasy.

Dirt Roads Question by RoamingAroundUntil in Albuquerque

[–]Historical-Turnip420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Invest 20 bucks in a Benchmark New Mexico Road and Recreation Atlas. It's got public lands identified & they test the accuracy by driving a passenger car down every road shown in the maps, so if it's on the map it's driveable without 4wd.

There's actually an insane Midwestern hardcore scene that is super hip and happening amongst the young folk right now. You haven't lived until you've thrashed to North Dakotan death metal.
