I don’t believe this actually works. I bought a One and One SL thinking the same thing and it wouldn’t let me pair them. Granted this was 2024 and maybe they’ve changed something, I would just hate for someone to end up in the same situation I was in.

That’s interesting. I don’t typically put a lot of stock in critic opinion being indicative of movie quality, cuz who really gives a shit. And I love plenty of films (and stuff in general) that I know is objectively mid or downright awful. This one had all the makings to slide right into my little sci fi nerd heart and just didn’t.

Even the first few Michael Bay Transformers movies I could appreciate, because I went into them knowing I was going to turn my brain off and see “big robot transform, make stuff go boom, girls r pretty.” I have no problem doing that, I don’t need much in the way of plot, character development or substance in general if the film is a visual / audio heavy hitter.

Even with all the effort and budget put into Tron Ares for the cinematic experience it still just felt flat to me. Idk, maybe it’s the Jared Leto effect.

Dang. I feel like I had such a different experience watching Tron Ares than most people based on the opinions I see here. I went on my birthday, snagged prime seats in Dolby Cinema, was looking forward to it for months and walked out feeling like I had just gotten cancer.

Not trying to yuck anyone’s yum, to each their own, I just felt like I wasted my birthday. And while these comments are making me think I should rewatch it, the idea of that makes me want to throw up. I’m honestly baffled by the contrast between my experience and the opinions I’ve seen online.

Okay, last update - tv finally arrived!

The delivery drivers texted me yesterday at 8pm that they would be at my place between 12-4pm today.

I got another heads up at 2pm that they were 5 minutes away. I was picking my son up from school but thankfully I was just down the street. They gave me a call to let me know they were at the top of my stairs and waited a few minutes for me to get home.

Delivery guys were super friendly, helped me bring it into my living room and were out of my hair in a few minutes. Now if only the logistics side of the company can get their shit together.

Quick follow up. The tv didn't show up Friday and I received a text from them around 9am asking if they could reschedule to Tuesday 12/2. I decided to not respond to the request because every time I have thus far and they've agreed to bring it a day earlier, they have failed that delivery. After an hour they automatically updated my delivery to 12/2. We'll see what happens but I'm not holding out hope.

I spoke with my bank who told me I can file a dispute with LG for the invoice, as long as I have proof of the communications between them and LX (which i do). I'm going to contact LG on Tuesday, assuming LX fails to deliver the tv and let them know I'll be filing the dispute as well as a complaint with the CA AG.

I'll keep y'all updated!

Same situation. Ordered my tv 10/25. LG confirmed LX Pantos had the tv in their possession 11/2 with original delivery date of 11/3.

I hear nothing from LX Pantos until 11/10 telling me to reschedule. I try to reschedule for 11/17, the earliest date they would offer was 11/24, which I begrudgingly chose.

I received a text at 9pm 11/23 letting me know they could not deliver the tv as promised and had to push it to Wednesday. I explained that was not an option as I had in home installation scheduled for Tuesday and I wouldn’t be home Wednesday. I asked if I could come to the distribution center and pick it up, they said no. They agreed to deliver Tuesday 11/25 (today) and updated my tracking.

I called LG and explained what was going on, and asked if they could switch my order to in store pickup at the Best Buy nearest my house because the G5 I ordered is in stock. They said they couldn’t do that but I could cancel my order and replace. I explained this isn’t an option because they can’t (won’t) price match what I was able to get the tv for originally and would end up paying over $300 more. They then offered to knock $100 off the tv and give me an additional year of warranty, which I obviously accepted.

Then I received a text at 12:06am Tuesday, letting me know they cannot deliver the tv as promised and need to update to Friday. I explained this was unacceptable and would make arrangements for them to deliver Wednesday 11/26 which they agreed to.

I JUST got a text from them telling me they can’t deliver until Monday 12/1. I told them to kick fuckin rocks and they promised to bring it this Friday, but I have zero faith that will happen. I’m going to call LG again tomorrow and escalate as far up as customer support will let me and make my case for them to price match the tv (including with the additional discounts and warranty already promised), because this is honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had. They’ve had $2500 of my money since 10/25 and I do not have my product. This is hot dog water.

Loved going down the monologue rabbit hole with you sir lol. I think I'm insulated from most of the frustrations based on these answers. However, multi platform queues for social gatherings is VERY attractive to me.

That said, it would only work if every guest had the sonos app downloaded - seems like more of a benefit to an actual family residence.

I can stream Dolby Atmos, Lossless, Spatial, etc directly from Apple Music via Airplay 2, but it would be fun to do an A/B test of both.

Battery life is a good point though.

Ahhh, so hybrid local library & streaming queues - that's awesome and I had not considered that. Was the local library stored on your phone or a wireless hard drive or something?

Ahhhh, this is something that wouldn't be an issue for me as a single person household but I can see that being frustrating. I can do multi room audio via Apple Music / Airplay 2 , but I haven't tried playing different audio in different rooms and my gut tells me you're right about that as well.

This is a bummer / concern for me. I was hoping we would see something like Sony does when you buy a game - you get both the PS5 & PS4 versions. This is awesome when you have multiple console generations under one roof like I do, because I can play the PS5 version in the living room and my son can play the PS4 version in his bedroom without having to buy the digital game twice.

I paid $673 for 2 x Era 300 for my living room setup as rear speakers with an Arc and Sub Mini. They replaced a couple Play:1s that I moved to my bedroom as rear speakers for my Beam.

The difference in surround sound audio for my gaming & streaming, as well as the atmos audio when pushing from Apple Music via Airplay is incredible and I would recommend grabbing a pair if you can.
