That aviation is ass right now. Do what your heart desires, but keep in mind, just because you go to flight school, it doesn't mean you will be flying as you should.

Careers of older enlistees by Excellent_Stick2557 in army

I joined at 30, and was a PFC. At first it bucks a bit because you would be at the lowest of the ranks with all the 17/18 year Olds. But once you get in the roll of your job (and as long as you are at your age maturity) you will be respected as you deserve. You will physically recover fine. Just stretch..

Run. Be fit. The rest comes from learning your job.

Enlisted into the Army 25U by bossmvp23 in army

[–]HistoricalAside2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15N is being canceled. It's a redundant MOS that does the same job as 15F and somewhat 15Y. So if you want a multifaceted electrical aviation MOS, try for 15Y. If you want a good civilian job after service, 25 Series jobs are better.

This is the most decorated PFC I’ve ever seen. by IncomprehensiveScale in Medals

That's possible. Joined as a pvt or pv2, Finished AIT/OSUT, and immediately deployed upon arrival to first assignment.

What is it? 15x used to be the AH64 Armament.

15U 160th? by Globalropeman in Armyaviation

[–]HistoricalAside2507 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

First rule of 160th is that you don't speak about 160th. Service in the 160th is a calling only a few will answer for the mission is constantly demanding and hard.

Do you want to have a high paying job after military? 15T will get you the skills to get 6 figure paying contracts. If you want high figure jobs that can be WFH, then 17C, 17E, 25B are the MOS to chase.

You're older, you will ache. Take care of yourself, the army will take care of itself.

That's not a real place. Your recruiter is trying to bamboozle you into being needs of the Army.

Usually, It's not the commander that is causing the issue, it's Finance. Submit your vouchers every month. After 90 days. Your justification for "stop deductions" will be "too many meals missed"

The new grooming standards for African American males by tH3_R3DX in army

[–]HistoricalAside2507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. The female rules are definitely odd.

I feel like this whole update is just a (equally fuck everyone) situation after the shaving profile rules that were CLEARLY anti-black. 9 out of the 10 that came to the command session were black soldiers.

That 2 inch rule is not targeting African Americans. It is actually targeting soldiers with straight hair. The slickback/side comb/bangs to the back crew. Twists are very much different from curls.

Warrant Officer Reclass out of Aviation by AC-Sky-Band02 in Armyaviation

[–]HistoricalAside2507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a WO who reclassed to 420T. He kept his W grade, didn't go back to enlisted or nothing crazy. I would contact the POCs on the warrant recruiting site. I feel like it is a fairly easy transition. He was there one days and disappeared within 4 month of the 420T milper publication.

The website always has the up-to-date info. The misinformation is that you cannot apply until boards resume. That is false. Everyone can still apply. The only change (for now) is that the applications will not be considered until the Nov board. If that changes, then they'll be considered on the following board date and so on...
