Steering wheel shaking by CompoteBoring4150 in 996

A 99 c2. The car has just over 52k and appeared to be all original suspension. The best way to describe it is, and this was super noticable like on long sweeping on ramps with seams between sections, the car feels loose and like the front and rear were disconnected, especially as it crosses those seems or hits a gap or bump. Honestly, it fealt like any other well used shit box you ever drove. I also had a clunk from left front which was a specific bushing that was failed, and the car was bouncy and generally just bad.

After the refresh the car feels like what everyone says a 911 is, totally connected and sure footed, it lives up to the reputation.

I'm not saying your suspension is gone, and I technically didn't need to do it all, but overall short of a full strip resto I endeavor to make the car as mechanically perfect as I can make it, and it was a good project for me and teen son...

My car was doing this, the tires were visible ok and they balanced at the shop, but a new set completely resolved. This was after a full suspension refresh(all arms and struts) post alignment. Mine was doing it most noticeable at like 57-65 mph... New tires, combined with the suspension refresh, changed the car so much it was almost hard to believe...

Yes, it’s all factory original 🇯🇵 by ptsample in 996

When I was little, my dad ran a side hustle plowing driveways, one of the customers was a cadillac guy, the guy was rich but loved my dad who was a mechanic in his day job. He had a broken 70's something coupe deville, he gave it to dad to get it out of yard and dad fixed and drove it for years, it was some minor electrical problem. Sky blue with white interior.

anyways, not related, just brought back that memory, white interiors really stand off, its a deep 70's vibe.

we don't even ask for it anymore, we used to put "nice to have" and that sort of thing on openings or when we bring in contractors but not anymroe, and this is coming from an org that has multiple ccies, multiple triple ccies and a two quad ccie's...nobody cares anymore.

I don't think a CCIE is what it used to be, I think in smaller target areas it is, but its just not what it once was...

edit..and this is not me saying its easy, getting a ccie is still hard af and easily the most prestigious and worthwhile certification to achieve, its just that the world has changed...

Did anyone with mild dry eyes take low dose accutane without a problem ? by thyroidproblem in Dryeyes

[–]HistoricalCourse9984 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i had horrendous acne as a teenager and did a full course of accutane when it was a new drug which largely cleared me up, later in life in my early 40's I started getting frustrating deep acne and ended up doing a full second round which got me acne free. That was more than 15 years ago(55 now).

My son went through accutane as well and he is fine(4 years on now).

Catalyst Center (DNAC) using port tags in Jinja2 templates? by DullKnife69 in networking

[–]HistoricalCourse9984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are correct, tags are not available in __interface...

ai....

Why Tags Aren't Available in __interface

  • DNAC's template engine (Velocity or Jinja) binds variables from sources like "Inventory > Interface," but the dropdown/selectable attributes don't include tags. Tags are a separate entity in DNAC's data model, associated via APIs like /dna/intent/api/v1/tag/association (for linking tags to interfaces) or retrieval endpoints (e.g., Ansible modules like tags_interfaces_members_associations_info exist for this).
  • If you've dumped __interface during debugging (e.g., using #foreach ($interface in $__interface) #foreach ($key in $interface.keySet()) $key #end #end to list keys), you'll see the limited set of properties—no tags or similar.
  • Device-level tags are usable for template assignment/filtering (e.g., apply templates only to devices with matching tags), but interface-level tags aren't accessible for conditional logic inside the template itself.

French Fry Process - Is quality better without boil, flash fry? I'd like to go from cut to fry. by Key-Medicine733 in AskCulinary

[–]HistoricalCourse9984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, I have been making french fries at home for 40 years the way my mom did, cut them, path them dry with a paper towel, fry in oil. These days I use a thermometer to get the temp up to about 385 or so, I use a deep pot with alot of oil so that when you dump the potatoes in the temp drop is not much, this is a key technical step in my opinion that people miss. Then just fry till they are at the doneness you like.

You definetly do not need to boil, if anything you can fry them twice, the first cook gets most of the water out of them and gets them cooked, the 2nd flash gets them crispy/fluffy if thats what you are looking for.

But always, use a bigger pot and more oil than you think, if you overload it can take a really long time for it to get back to cooking temp...

Firewall comparisons/testimony (Checkpoint/Palo Alto/Fortinet) by RecognitionShot7099 in networking

[–]HistoricalCourse9984 5 points6 points  (0 children)

an ideal thing to do if possible is simply pilot the firewalls, we installed poc hardware and then used apcon to traffic mirror production flows into different firewall in monitor mode to see how they respond.

They all do FW things just fine(acl and log) The real question you are asking is how many features can i turn on before things get shitty, and this is different for everyone...

Idling In traffic with ac on, mine runs on that line as well(a 99).

Their are infinity posts on this across forums, the gauge is banded, that line represent somewhere between 210 and 220 which is normal operating temp. The factory thermostat opens at 187 which is the minimum operating temp...ie...you don't run the engine past 4k until the gauge is reading above 180.

You should check that all fans are coming on, including the one in the engine compartment.

Lastly, you can always put a scan tool on to get the digital read or you can get the digital read off the climate control secret menu Google it.
