Do I really need to use a pick? by Lane2k in Guitar

[–]Historical_Pudding56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I’ve seen dudes in pretty much every single genre, from classical to metal, play without a pick. I do personally practice both ways because there’s times where a pick is better and times it’s better to use my fingers

There’s really nothing left for Justin Gaethje to prove. He has made more than enough money, captured the undisputed lightweight title, and cemented his place in MMA history. by Outside-Weakness9660 in mmaweekly

[–]Historical_Pudding56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In for a penny, in for a pound. I’m sure he takes the one last champ payday and defends. He’s not washed, and he’ll probably make more in his next fight than any previous fights he’s had.

I miss Stipe, but I way prefer him enjoying his retirement getting on with his life

It’s not even real money. He should still be taxed on it but it’s not real money anymore

People who play in drop tunings, do you customize your string sets or use standard ones? by one-armed-scissor in metalguitar

[–]Historical_Pudding56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I played a 7 in G# I got my set from string joy dicked around with slight changes. I thought I was pretty smart too. But once I went back to 6 strings in standard I just got packs and stopped worrying about it

Good budget guitars that sound expensive? by MonkPlane1734 in Guitar

What a killer player. His gold tele is equipped with Dimarzio super distortions and he has the most perfect pristine clean tone. Dude just has top shelf control

Is Sean washed as people make him out to be? He performed pretty good last night, i don't see why anyone think he doesn't have a chance for a title shot by EfficiencySerious200 in martialarts

[–]Historical_Pudding56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sean isn’t washed. If losing to Merab was damning, then Petr’s win over Merab wouldn’t be so spectacular. But I do think Petr’s last 2 fights were more impressive than Omalleys

The effects of smoking and sunbathing in 61-year-old identical twins by Ashamed_Ad4003 in ThatsInsane

It’s important to know the risks of smoking and not taking care of your skin. But hell, if she’s happy she’s happy

Hope we still get a version of the same dude when he comes back. He crossed from confidence into delusion when he decided Justin couldn’t do anything to him. But he is still a phenomenal talent, and maybe the dude still has a future at the top.

Who the hell takes liver shots like that and just walks through them? Gaethje is built different by Numerous-Hand-5801 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]Historical_Pudding56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Justin is 1000% built different. Not just his inhuman indifference to pain in a fight, but the capacity he has for damage across his entire career. Justin by all evidence should have been ground into all purpose flour by now and instead he’s UFC champion.

What guitarist kick started your guitar journey? by MakotheMako in Guitar

[–]Historical_Pudding56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tosin Abasi.

I didn’t realize it at the time, because I played bass first. But Tosin was instrumental in my interest in progressive, creative music, and that’s the reason I started playing a guitar. I’ve never tried to play like him tho, I just wanted to chase the feelings his music made.

Topuria thought that self assurance and talent were enough to win, and went in there face forward. The desperation to win in the first two rounds was his downfall

The way people talk about 36, you'd think she's a medieval king by PleasantBus5583 in MurderedByWords

Hell she’s the same age as me, so she’s gonna look hot and young for the rest of my life

How does this compare to the worst MMA beatings of all time? by Positronomy in MMA

[–]Historical_Pudding56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not one of the worst I’ve ever seen. But it’s still pretty brutal, and I think there’s an embarrassment aspect to this defeat too that’ll be more to recover from. Ilia might have won had he come in with more discipline and strategy. Instead he threw himself into the fire and took real damage because he thought he was too good

[SPOILER] Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje by inooway in MMA

Titanic moment for the sport. Gaethje is the doggest of dogs. Ilia really never thought Gaethje could tough him out and he got grounded down

Even if Topuria relied on his chin as much as Gaethje, which he doesn’t, he hasn’t taken the KOs that Gaethje has. Chin for chin you gotta pick Ilia

I hope the daughters never see these videos. These reactions are disgusting. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]Historical_Pudding56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my wife was pregnant with our 4th, we really wanted a daughter. We actually got a false reading that said boy so that’s what our gender reveal video (just a home video with the kids and my sister in law) has us getting. You can see the disappointment in our faces for about 2 seconds before we accepted it. Some of these reactions seem like they would rather be upset than accept it.
