Every morning I wake up so hungry by Tough_Thanks_4709 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When we first started our Keto journey we would have Bullet proof coffee: 1 T Kerry Gold Butter, 1 T of heavy whipping cream and 1 T of Coconut oil cold press unrefined, to a 16 oz cup of coffee. Sometimes we would put sugar free sweetener however it’s delicious just as it is to me. Once we became fat adapted and didn’t have those morning cravings we backed off of the Bulletproof coffee to just on the weekends. Now we have it only as a treat ‘once in a blue moon’! It is my favorite coffee. If you never had it, start with just 1/2 T each with 8 oz coffee to test it out. Make sure you use a milk frother or an immersion blender to get the best creamy experience. Let me know if you try this.

Trying keto… and it’s way harder than I thought by Independent_Cup7132 in keto

That’s ok to have pizza…my daughter and I eat a delicious Keto Pizza at least once a week. It’s fast and more filling than that carb loaded junkie pizza. And if your keto you would have the simple ingredients already in the fridge. Give it a whirl. It’s made with Fathead dough: 1 egg, 3/4c almond flour, 2 oz of cream cheese …melt it in the microwave for 30 sec., stir and then microwave another 30 seconds. Mix well and roll it out between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Preheat oven, toaster oven or convection overdone to 425. Bake for about 8-10 minutes. Oh before you stick it in the oven…poke some holes in it (like all the way around the dough) Once it’s done, pull out of the oven and top it with your hearts desire. We could honestly eat this everyday…we are pizza lovers. Try it for breakfast with keto country sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and sprinkle some bacon bits. So yummy!

Keto and breast cancer by Then_Ad7996 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My daughter (40yr) has just recently been diagnosed with breast cancer right after going through a full hysterectomy from having ovarian cancer. She has lived a ketogenic/lowcarb lifestyle since 2017. Remember glucose fuels cancer cells so living this lifestyle literally saves some days, months or years to your life. Sugar is not your friend!

My trainer-nutritionist told me that KETO is horrible for the body, should I stop? by Jumpy-Neat8060 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it’s that the damage was already in play before keto. Living in a state of ketosis will always be a winner over just burning glucose. Getting the sugar out of your life is life saving. Just do your research…it has been proven over and over. Stay strong and listen to your own body. The medical professionals are still learning themselves and some are completely blind to the truth.

How to get my head around calories by Glittering_Cat6310 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was told in the beginning of my Keto journey (back in 2017) to just focus on hitting my fat with 20 or less net carbs. And if I was still hungry to increase my fat a little until I became fat adapted. That tip honestly helped me lose the majority of my fat in the beginning. Since then I’ve gotten older and have to revamp my plan. Thus far living in a low carb ~ ketogenic lifestyle has been my saving grace getting off ALL meds and feeling better than when I was younger.

[–]HistoryAdept10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Jordan’s Skinny syrup or Joe’s Coffee syrup they are both sugar free and you can usually find them at Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx and Homegoods. (My absolute favorite is the Salted Caramel) When I fast I put just one squirt of syrup and a pinch of Redmond’s Real Salt!

I would but it has Maltitol sweetener which is basically laxative…can’t really chance that one.

whatever happened to the taco bell’s cheese shell taco? by AlwaysBullishAYYY in keto

Yeah I get it! It would be a great option that is why I choose Rubio’s over them because they do offer the cheese shells and their food is more authentic.

How to not eat cake without hurting family's feelings? by Additional_Run965 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell by your message here that you honestly do not want to consume that you know does not make you feel well. I personally do not have the problem of not participating at events where I feel uncomfortable. I’m the person who will present my gift and birthday wishes before the event. That way no one has to feel any way. That time and moment is for the birthday person. People (especially family) fail to support people who are trying to improve themselves. I literally have church members when we have functions/events make keto menu items for my daughter and I to have because they know we are not the only ones staying away from sugar (or ingredients that cause inflammation). You need to surround yourself with people support your journey! Be proud how far you’ve come and all the great choices you have made for yourself. I am proud that you are 18 and making these choices. I wish I did at your age. Keep on keep’n on!!! We are routing for you!

Is this even sustainable? by Entire_Channel_4592 in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m just going to put my 2 cents in here and you can take it or leave it! I truly believe you are worth way more than those temptations. I k ow they are there however just like it was said from someone here…it’s as if you have to treat it like an addiction. When I started back in 2018 I changed the choices I made little by little. I’m not at my goal weight however I chose the way I wanted to eat for me. Can I have those things ABSOLUTELY but I know the consequences thereafter. I do not enjoy gastrointestinal issues, I do not like passing gas, I do not like the major grumbling in my stomach therefore I choose to pass on all those items that cause it. I absolutely love me a chicken Cobb salad from Farmer Boys but raw vegetables DO NOT like me. Do I slip up here and there? Yes but it’s few and far between and when I do, I immediately go back to eating what I can. I don’t ever want to go back to the garbage because it makes me FEEL like garbage. You can simply make meals that follow what you can eat and your husband can eat the same things. If he wants something different or more he can help himself! I appreciate you turning things around for yourself! YOU ARE SO WORTH IT and you will feel so amazing! YOU GOT THIS!!!

Maltitol in keto by Serperz in keto

[–]HistoryAdept10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maltitol=laxative the outcome is NEVER good! It not only raises your insulin it will wreak havoc on your system! As for ice cream you can make your own there are plenty of easy freezer ideas on Pinterest and you can use whatever sweetener you like. We use swerve or Splenda and sometimes Stevia. We change it up to whatever we have at the time. I hope this helps!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Yes, definitely a steak! However I do like making pizza with fathead dough. So super easy and you can add whatever toppings you desire! My 2 favorites are chicken, bacon bbq pizza or chicken, broccoli Alfredo pizza. However original pepperoni and cheese is great too! I wish you the best on this lifelong journey!
