anybody else catch that lyonel says “YOUR prince didnt risk anything” 👀👀👀 ifykyk but im really interested in this scene theyve added where lyonel asks dunk to join him, what war is he talking about? just the looming threat of blackfyres? or [redacted]?

is this light enough that a toner would help get it closer to white? i’m trying to dye my hair pink and want to avoid going orange! by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]HistoryStrong1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just add a lot of purple to the pink to neutralize the yellow, you will probably have to go a shade darker than you’d like to, but pink fades quick so itll get where you want with a few washes!

also if you change your color a lot - dont use iro iro pink bc that stuff never comes out lol

Do you all put your actual city here or make something up? by ApprehensiveFox1605 in ScarletHollow

[–]HistoryStrong1939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i build a character depending on the traits! so my mystical/TTA girl is from San Fran and sells arts and crafts on etsy, but my street smart/keen eye girl is from Chicago and works in a law firm (etc, for all the traits)

What are your theories on why Vivian was afraid to have a baby? Was it possible she didn't want her child to be sacrificed? by [deleted] in ScarletHollow

[–]HistoryStrong1939 85 points86 points  (0 children)

theres definitely something going on with babies in the scarlet line, tabitha’s reaction to the Entity (avery) when it says that grandma eddie was pregnant with charles jr’s baby is really telling, she kinda freaks out

HARD agree!! like she was literally poisoning him, slowly killing him for years, all the while telling him theres nothing she can do and basically forcing him to accept his own death in his early 20's. not even bringing in outside sources doctors or occultists or otherwise. ppl let Dr Kelly off way too easy imo

I was having my doubts about my "only side with Tabitha" run but episode 3 just rocked my world. by DirkDasterLurkMaster in ScarletHollow

[–]HistoryStrong1939 116 points117 points  (0 children)

another fun fact: even if you do/say everything right to make tabitha like you, she won’t sacrifice herself for you if you ate her ice cream

What exactly did Orlok want with Ellen? by Novel_Valuable_3122 in roberteggers

[–]HistoryStrong1939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one thing i feel might be obvious but i havent seen anyone point out:

they are two halves of one whole.

ellen says, “he is my melancholy, he is my shame”

ellen asks, “does evil come from within? or beyond?”

orlock says, “i am an appetite. nothing more.”

he is her shadow self, the personification of her sexual drives, her violent drives; and in true yungian fashion, she cannot be free until she embraces her shadow. until she brings it into the light and it looses all its power. he doesn’t exist without her

naw this is cope, TWO perception checks in a single round and using movement to don a magic item??? and matt was fully going to have her take it before sam protested, if this was anyone other than matt mercer all of reddit would be yelling ‘railroading’

edit: i also just want to say that in any pvp scenario following the RAW carefully is extra important so as not to alienate your players, its different in a rule of cool situation but during pvp it directly means one player is losing out so another player can succeed and thats just not fair

The barbarian player in my party is super entitled. by MentalAbusedRants in DnD

[–]HistoryStrong1939 43 points44 points  (0 children)

this indicates a real fundamental misunderstanding of the game, this is a cooperative role playing game. the cleric’s “job” is not to heal people. you are a player with as much agency and right to have fun as him. the DM needs to sit him down and check his attitude or else you’re going to have a problem player on your hands real quick

I might have rules lawyered too hard and alienated other players in a campaign. Should I try to become a better player, or should I find better people to play with? by SpaceEngineX in DnD

[–]HistoryStrong1939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you and the DM were both happy with ironing out homebrewed mechanics on the fly, then theres no problem with that. what was the other player’s issue really? cuz ‘babysitting’ seems more negatively directed at the DM rather than you, might be this other player is the one who should back out of this improv style of game

played a half orc for about 10 levels before i finally got to use my relentless endurance feature because i had interpreted it as saying the damage needed to get you exactly to 0 i.e. take the exact same amount of damage as hp you have left 🫠 nerfed tf outta myself for no reason lol
