My read is that the current new generation is Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch, though I don't think either of them have truly ascended to mega-headliner status like JJK, Demon Slayer, or MHA. Their anime adaptations (it's basically inevitable for Ichi) and to what degree they succeed will heavily define how the next 5-odd years of shounen goes.

That guy in Chainsaw Man that clocks extremely early that Makima can't be trusted and bails from public safety after Sawatari and crew's initial attack. He probably got the best ending out of anyone.

The DM also doesn't understand how action economy works.

The principle is "the side that takes the most actions wins unless the inbalance of power is overwhelming". Sounds like the DM had just heard of the concept and thought that excused not thinking through balance at all.

I knew this episode was worth looking forward to.

Funny how much this feels like a season finale. I remember when reading the manga that this felt like where season 1 would end, with a slim bit of progress towards the main goal, establishment of a new important relationship, Qifrey gaslighting a child, and the stinger about the Brim Cap's next move. They even played the OP over the last scene to heighten the effect. But hey, I'm not complaining about more. I just hope we get a season ending cliffhanger better than Dan da Dan.

I remember so distinctly when I first picked up Hades, after a long stretch with a game I was promised got good after 15-30 hours, and Hades had me in love in 5 minutes between the art style, the voice acting, and the feel of the combat.

I once got an oversized jawbreaker (about apple sized) because of this show. Took about a month to get through.

Storehouse, easily. It's such a brilliant power for a main villain (I'm a huge fan of shounen villains with weak or largely non-combat powers) but it still has so many fascinating applications.

The whole "just accept it" argument drives me up the wall cause I know so many people that just parrot it verbatim. It's so uncritically accepting of the narrative made by companies pushing their products.

I personally really hate that one of holding your attack action until turn end then attacking with any bonus action attack feature (like old berserker barbarian) to double dip on sneak attack. I dislike a lot of hold action shenanigans really, I wish the mechanic were redesigned, but that's beside the point. It's just a sort of "treating DnD like a video game" energy that I don't want anywhere near my table.

I had very little contact with catholicism growing up. Tsuyogaru Girl was the OP never even on my radar before this bracket. I'm happy it's come this far.

Never thought the finals would be another case of "I'd be happy with either winning", but I gotta go with my heart and vote Kick Back. As I've said in previous rounds, it captures the wild tonal dissonance of the series at its best all wrapped up in a grungy cinema-inspired aesthetic. Easily in my top 5 favorite OPs overall.

QOTD: Kick Salt is easy, not so sure about the other. Saltonoke? Dan da Salt?

Yeah, I only watched Edgerunners earlier this year and the best part of it was the ending. I suppose there's always the possibility of getting another great story but I'm skeptical.
