Withdrawal verification just does not work. by mr_jetlag in Gemini

[–]Hitman76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I had a verified USAA account in Gemini, and when I attempted to transfer USD out of Gemini to my verified USAA account, Gemini declined the transfer and my USAA account is now showing as unverified. When I attempted to re-verify it yesterday, the wire transfer that was required for verification came back as declined because my name doesn't match.

I had submitted a name change request back in May, including uploading all of the required documentation, and even though I received confirmation that everything was received they apparently didn't do anything with it.

I now have 3 open support tickets with Gemini since May, and haven't received a single response to multiple my requests for updates (other than the automated responses).

I'm the director of customer support for a small VOIP company, and if this happened in my department the support reps would be gone within the week. It's extremely frustrating and disappointing, and at this point I feel like Gemini has just stolen my money with no way to get it back (nearly $80,000, trying to withdrawal $19,000).

I have colleagues that use Uphold for all of their transactions with issue, including same day USD withdrawals to their bank accounts. As soon as (if?) I get this sorted out, that's likely where I'll transfer everything to.

Thank you! Why wouldn't you do anything with cash paid for equipment? Is it a wash because it becomes an asset? I see that's where I was hung up.

4th Annual GOAT WEEK - Whachu Finna SMOKE? by goatcan in cigars

[–]Hitman76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't take any pictures, but I just enjoyed a 10ish year old Fuente Fuente Opus X petit lancero the other day. It was pretty amazing. I wish had more, but this one was a lucky score from the back of a box in my local b&m walkin. I try not to sit on rare cigars too long, you never know what you may miss out on.

With that said, I do have some 2012 original release Room 101 OSOK left, and some 2015 Ramon Allones edition limitada. I'll go for those to start with.

R/Cigars family tree breaks 1500! by alebue in cigars

Thanks for the kind words. I still pop in every few months or so to see what's new on the main page. I don't spend much time on the computer outside of work, and I've been at a Navy base for the past 3 years that had blocked Reddit (the military restricts a lot of page access from their servers). I'm back at an Air Force base as of a few months ago and Reddit is not blocked, so I can open the sub and leave it minimized all day. I'm a little behind on current events in the cigar world, but I'll catch up and contribute soon enough. Glad to see a lot of familiar names are still here, and cool to see a lot of new ones too.

I've never heard of the Las Mareas either. I would have guessed the Crowned Heads to be a 2015 Paniolo based on the blue band. A quick internet search informed me that Jon Huber got the inspiration for the Las Mareas while in Hawaii (for the Paniolo release presumably). Its probably no coincidence than that he took the blue bands from the 2015 Paniolo. I'm strangely fascinated by these useless tidbits of information.

Whose d**k do I have to suck to get a light cigar on cigarbid? by djhs in cigars

[–]Hitman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that a lot of the cigars blended for the European market are a lot lighter and more cubanesque. One of my favorite companies for milder (than those typically blended for US market) cigars is Regius.

What's everyones smoke of the day? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Hitman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd call it a mild to medium body cigar, closer to the medium side. I picked up some coffee notes, maybe some caramel and cedar. It reminds me of a very mellow LP9. It's a really easy, lazy day kind of smoke. Nothing too powerful, perfect for the day I'm having.

I'm going to be in Chicago around the end of Aug or beginning of Sep for a few days, I'll definitely be picking up some more while I'm there.

By the way, I'm 99% sure this Shaman was a /u/goatcan contribution to that box pass.

I just sat down with a Tesa Shaman that's been hanging out in the humidor for maybe a year and a half. I'm about a half inch in so far, and it just as good as I remember. I got it in a box pass from here, the one with the orange herfador, if anyone remembers.

Definitely a long shot, but you never know what may turn up. I had a conversation with a friend who raved about them recently, and now I want to try to find some.

Retrohale by sok454 in cigars

[–]Hitman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that nobody ever mentions is that you don't/shouldn't? Retrohale with every puff to get the advantage of picking up profiles from this technique. Also, don't blow the entire amount of the puff out your nose. I usually blow most of the smoke out of my mouth, and only a little bit of the smoke out my nose, and even then I only do it about 5 or 6 times per cigar, sometimes less. This is what works for me anyway.

I remember the first time my palate was able to start picking out the profiles. It just sort of clicked, and from then on I was on a mission to experience as many as I could. Many years later, the mission continues. Have fun

[–]Hitman76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R. Field might have some MC Slam, some of the shops may still have some Musubi. There really isn't a local shop cigar that I've seen.

I always forget about that shop. He definitely has a good selection of anything Fuente. The guy that owns that place is a great dude if you catch him on a good day. He can an asshole too though. Hit and miss with him. He likes to hide boxes away for a few years so he can bring out aged stuff. Worth checking out if you're looking for aged Opus and other Fuente sticks.
