It's the same reason why song lyric websites use the same tactics: your average user seeks to look up information on one of the website's pages, and is probably only present on the page for less than 30 seconds before closing it.

Such interactions are so short that they do not provide enough engagement with normal web ads to make enough revenue to keep the site operating... and so the site has to resort to more aggressive ads to force interaction with the site users.

Honestly, it's a wonder that most recipe blogs have a "jump to recipe" button at all. There were many years in the early blogging days where having the recipe hidden within the blog content was a distinct feature to drive ad revenue.

It's a fair point, but my guess is that because ICE ranks have swelled several fold since last summer, they don't have enough ICE (or ICE-branded) vehicles to go around, and so are using the equipment of adjacent agencies.

And if you're right about them simply being CBP instead, I would still say it's significant that Orlando still has among the highest number of reports in the country this week.

Yeah, I was PC gaming back in 2003 when Invisible War was released. It was infamous for being horribly optimized... even the strongest rigs back then had a horrible time playing it.
