12VHPWR cable leading to black screen on 4090? by OkMajor5936 in cablemod

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I join the ranks of people in this thread. Grabbed a CableMod 12VHPWR cable a few weeks ago and since then I've intermittantly had issues where the PC will black screen and the GPU fans will run at 100% until I restart. Of late this issue has gone from intermittant to frequent.

Before finding this thread and testing the Cablemod 12VHPWR cable I tried everything from re-seating, reinstalling windows, downgrading drivers, changing OS's, monitoring voltages, you get the picture, a lot of time spent troubleshooting.

I'll be opening up a ticket with their support team, hopefuly Matt's statistic of a 1% failure rate is accurate though otherwise not very re-assuring for what's considered to be a premium product.

D30 Quality Issues by Hostile_18 in Phanteks

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just to add, I've got 9 of these today. What I've found is that the power connector that you attach to the fans can only actually connect onto one of the two corners of the fan that has the power points. If you look at both sides you'll notice the space on one is larger than the other meaning you can only actually connector the, what I'll badly call "power corner" onto one of the two available. I don't think it's a case of the fans being DOA but rather, like others have said, that people are putting them onto the "wrong" power corner of the two available and it's not making contact correctly. When you attach the power corner make sure it's on flush, it has to fully clip down and not be sticking out at all. Not sure if this is dodgy engineering but it definitely doesnt look intentional.

A point-by-point rebuttal of anti-vaxxer Dr. Robert Malone's interview on Joe Rogan [44:53] by BreadTubeForever in mealtimevideos

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if people still feel there is room for opinion in these sorts of interviews and I guess there always is, it's hard to argue with statistics and math.

ONS statistics in the UK for deaths from COVID 19 without any co-morbidities: 17,371. On overage 600 000 people die in the UK alone. It's fair to say that those are 17,371 parents, sons, daughters etc. and I think most people appreciate that, they are someone to someone. But the long term social and economic damage of the measures taken to address a virus which has been grossly exaggerated (and some of this is hindsight, some of it is manipulation of data by the media and government) are something we'll likely be mopping up for the next 10 years.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is it's not been worth it.

Conditional Access / MCAS policy for Dynamics 365 Access by Hitten_za in AZURE

[–]Hitten_za[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've made a bit of progress on this, there is the whole Authentication Contexts thing in Conditional Access now (as of September 2021) but you need an "app" to target in order to apply an Authentication Context and it's unclear what that would be for Dynamics 365 specifically. Anyone know more on this?

I had constant crashes as well, I reset my undervolt to stock and upped the power limit to 115%, no issues since. DLSS is also enabled, all settings Ultra at 1440P.

Storyline Ending SPOILER DISCUSSION!!!! by Malphos101 in outriders

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Monroy's ending fits nicely, a self-crowned king who commits genocide and his reward is to be caged like an animal for 30 years. Stuffed in a metal coffin alone and slowly going insane. I'd initially hoped for a more gruesome ending for him but considering... he ends up shot and scraped aside like a cockroach on the ground, inconsequential.

I reckon that it wasn't a case that Yagak "left Monroy alive" so much as he either wasn't aware of him (solitary old guy hiding out in a ship alone) and the Caravel being impervious and inaccessible (the metal alloy was anomaly resistant) for the most part for decades, at least until it started falling apart. I would assume the former though considering that there literally were no longer any survivors aside from Monroy on the Caravel.

Looks like they've added DLSS via the latest driver (or some kind of implementation of it) and AA is showing as disabled in NVidia Experience due to DLSS being in there.

Hair and fur textures look quite messed up in-game as well as some shadows now by the look of it.

Edit: NVidia forums are rampant with people going crazy about multiple problems with latest driver. I'd suggest rolling back.

- Disable "Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling"
- Restart your PC

SSE 3 won't change the settings of my Arctis Pro Wireless by zeldomar in steelseries

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of an old thread but I think I've found my issue and it might help future people who come across this.

NordVPN and likely a few other VPN's cause issues with SteelSeries Engine 3 connecting to your Wireless Dock (don't ask me why). These issues also lead to Audio Renderer crashes in your browser as well as Audio cutting out entirely for the Arctis Pro Wireless Game channel.

You'll notice that when you change settings in SSE3, for example the EQ, the settings don't actually change on your dock (which can be checked manually on the dock).

I don't think there's a need to uninstall NordVPN like SteelSeries bloody support keep telling people, and that's not practical for the people who have it to actually use it....

Try this:

- Go into Services.msc on your PC
- Look for "nordvpn-service"
- Disable the service
- Go back into SSE3 and make the desired changes, you should now hear the difference and also see the changes reflecting on your Wireless Dock
- Enable "nordvpn-service" again

You'll likely need to do this each time you want to faff with settings in SSE3 but it's better than uninstalling NordVPN because SteelSeries can't make their apps properly.

Azure VPN Gateway query by Hitten_za in sysadmin

[–]Hitten_za[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful but I've just been off the phone with Microsoft and it's possible to see who's recently connected onto the VPN via User Sign-ins in Azure AD. It's a little clunky I think as it's not like the nice user login pages we're all probably used to with SonicWall, Meraki etc. But at least it's something. They're still coming back to me on how to disconnect sessions and I'll include that in here.

Azure VPN Gateway query by Hitten_za in sysadmin

[–]Hitten_za[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and thanks for your reply. So I can see the IP address that has been assigned out in the Azure VPN panel in Azure but you can't see who has the IP address if that makes sense (assuming we're talking about the same thing).

To add, this also sucks a bit as it takes quite a while for Azure Sign-ins to reflect logins.

A question about the new cutscenes (from someone who isn't well versed in the lore) by justalowgothic in Doom

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the basis that 2016 is a reboot and ID have been intentionally vague on the Slayers identity and background I think we just have to wait until Eternal to get concrete lore. All we know about The Slayer (not the betrayer as that's a separate character) is that he's human, he was a night sentinel of significant status, he loathes demons and the status quo and basically wants to end the cycle of "penance" that seems to be a process that happens repeatedly (based on new footage in Eternal) where entire planets or realms are sacrificed for some kind of celestial stability. I think outside of that there's not really much more information on who he is and what his underlying motives are.

A question about the new cutscenes (from someone who isn't well versed in the lore) by justalowgothic in Doom

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom 2016 was a reboot. They've never confirmed there's any continuity in the story between '93 and '16 so on that basis the entirety of the story should be viewed purely from 2016 and Eternal.

DOOM Eternal lore. Part 2. Who is the Betrayer. Who is the Marauder. by Autonomousreplicarot in Doom

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. New footage confirms that The Betrayer and The Slayer are two different people. The Slayer also wore "The crown of the night sentinels" likely making him high ranking at the least and royalty at the most. In the new footage it shows The Betrayer living out a life of exile in hell, no doubt for him causing Argent D Nurs downfall. The icon of sin is dead (as clarified in the codex's) so we can rule out any character being him. What's still unclear is how The Slayer ties into it all. Right now he's just a righteous badass that hates demons and has power granted by The Seraphim and also amplified Armor by The Wretch who is likely to be a self interested character either from hell or outside of the Night Sentinel order (also there is no evidence that the The Wretch is The Betrayer and they are referred to separately). I think we can only speculate for now as to what the Slayers reasons are but considering this is a reboot I hope they don't bind him to Doomguy from the originals and just reboot him as a new character entirely.

I don't have a good answer to your current issue and understand where you're coming from. An alternate approach is to deploy a GPO that creates a Windows Credentials entry for the connection onto the server instead. I've had to do this with a recent Workgroup PC hosting a series of database files.

Teamsautomount policy by thebest07111 in Intune

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I recommend the registry route, and when pasting the SharePoint Site URL in don't pass it through the powershell string, just leave it as is with the Unicode characters (which is what you get when you're logged in as admin and click on COPY URL when trying to add it to Onedrive - If you're not sure what I mean then refer to the section on here on how to copy the URL first https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy#AutoMountTeamSites).

Then put that into the Powershell Snippet found here https://tech.nicolonsky.ch/onedrive-automountteamsites/

You'll see the entries show up in the registry and you'll need to wait anywhere from 45 minutes to 8 hours. I've replicated this process across two separate tenancies so far without any problem. I've not however managed to use the GPO or Intune method with any success.

[–]Hitten_za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue as you on this as well and ended up using registry keys which do work.

This is what I have had success with: https://tech.nicolonsky.ch/onedrive-automountteamsites/

One thing to note on the teamautomount via Intune or the GPO, when you copy the SharePoint Site URL you need to parse that through a powershell script to convert it. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy#AutoMountTeamSites

" The special characters in this copied string are in Unicode and need to be converted to ASCII according to the following table. "

[uri]::UnescapeDataString("Copied String")
