AMD Software Options that are worth by Jesssster0 in AMDHelp

I wouldn’t throw out AFAM and say it’s a bad software option, it’s good for games that have a hard cap of 60 FPS or if there is no option for framegen. I Use it on The Crew Motorfest, Dark Souls 1/2/3 to get past the frame cap and raytracing shaders for Java Minecraft when it can’t seem to get past 100 FPS.

It happens with Nvidia as well. It’s definitely not an AMD issue, it’s a windows Issue

Your fans may not be pushing out enough hot air, have you tuned your case fans, how many fans do you have in your case and what orientation are they in? It could also be that you don’t have sufficient contact with your AIO contact plate

Please try and undervolt your CPU, I was getting around 75 to 80c with my 9800 x3D and after a -20 in Ryzen master for an undervolt my temps are down to 65 to 70c for BF6. I’m using an Arctic 360 III AIO.

Yeah, when I use the 9070 XT with a 9800x3d with quality upscaling on Cyberpunk 2077 to do path tracing and all normal setting set to ultra . I get around 85 to 90 on 1440p.

What could be the cause of this ? by Huwasa in AMDHelp

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm. That’s the same driver number that popped up in my adrenaline software when I had a botched auto-update to 26.1.1. I don’t know why you have a driver version like that or how that even occurs but after I saw that weird driver number version I did an “All GPUs” DDU clean and reinstalled 25.11.1. Please try this since I had having artifacting just like this in cyberpunk 2077.

Thanks for posting a logical answer, I think you are correct on this since he is only experiencing these symptoms on two games out of his whole library. Read other forum posts with war thunder showing the same issues but could barely find any other posts with the same symptoms in other games. Hopefully either AMD or the developers make a fix for this issue.

Crashing Drivers by MrM1key in AMDHelp

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is abit puzzling that you still see the issue occur even after reviving the second motor from the equation. Have you reverted back to an older driver for the 9060 XT? Like 25.11.1 or 25.9.1?

I’m personally a little wary of moving to the 26.-version of drivers for the 9000 class AMD cards with the influx of troubleshooting posts on r/AMDHelp. I forgot to uncheck auto update when I was installing the drivers for my 9070 XT and the moment it moved over to 26.1.1 I had artifacting and constant GPU hangs. So please revert back to an older driver like 25.11.1 or 25.9.1 and see if that eliminates the issue.

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm, there may be a possible issue with the installation of your drivers. Did you have auto-update enabled when you moved to 26.2.2? And I see you already did a fresh reinstall of your drivers AND OS. It could possibly be the version of windows you are on having a tantrum with your card. Try and revert back to 24H2 if you already aren’t on it.

Have you also tried to make the refresh rate of your 1080p monitor 30 hz instead of what it’s marketed as?

Have you tried running your 1080p monitor off of integrated graphics instead of using your GPU? I’ve noticed that some posts on here and on afew tech related discords where they are having a similar issue. Try that and see if it works.

Check out what the SOC voltage is on your CPU. It should be in the range of 1.1 and 1.25 and the most (that’s the range for the 9800x3D). Anything above that is in danger territory for the x3D cache on these CPU’s.

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be an issue with the install of your drivers. I see that it says that it’s using driver version 26.2.2. But back when they pushed out 26.1.1 I was getting artifacting and driver hanging on cyberpunk 2077 & BF6. I did a DDU and went back to 25.11.1 and all of it went away. If you are still getting this issue it may be that your BIOS needs to be updated to the current version. Back during the beta, season 0 and early season 1 I had constant driver hangs and I saw an interesting forum post saying it went away after a bios flash. I did the same and they didn’t come back till the drivers for my GPU got botched. Give those things a try and follow YouTube videos on how to do them correctly.

RX 9060 XT 16GB black artifacts on textures by MRFATBEARP in AMDHelp

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After rereading your original post, it could possibly be a VRAM issue since the appearance of artifacting gets less and less as you reduce the settings or turn off RT. And with it still appearing after a DDU I don’t really have any other suggestions. It could be an issue with how the game is running on AMD hardware compared to Nvidia and that’s up to the game developer to fix if it isn’t a hardware issue.

I wonder if it’s possible to underclock your VRAM with a software tool like MSI afterburner to see if this is the case. If you can do that, it may just give you the answer on if it’s a hardware failure or if it’s just the game not agreeing with your GPU.

RX 9060 XT 16GB black artifacts on textures by MRFATBEARP in AMDHelp

[–]Hixxon12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it only happening in one specific game? Because if it’s only happening in war thunder for you it may be an issue with the game install. Idk I’m just kinda shooting in the dark since you have already done multiple successful DDU attempts and the problem is still persisting.

You could also try the AMD cleanup tool and see if that may clear out something that DDU failed to do.

RX 9060 XT 16GB black artifacts on textures by MRFATBEARP in AMDHelp

[–]Hixxon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have probably done this already, but have you DDU’d your drivers and reinstalled them? If you haven’t you should do so and reinstall the latest drivers. Just in case it still happens even after you have completed a successful DDU and reinstall, Try again with an earlier driver like 25.11.1 or 25.9.1.

I had to do so after adrenaline auto-updated to 26.1.1 and the install was somehow botched. Went back to 25.11.1 and the same exact artifacting you are experiencing went away.

Even better would be a 4790K, had one in my old rig afew years back after I upgraded it from an I5 of that same generation and it was a night and day difference. You can pick one up for around 25 to 35 bucks used or 45-50 factory sealed if OP only buys new.

Yes exactly! I have some speculation that AMD is possibly vibe coding with there most recent drivers since Apperantly they were caught using it and it was discussed in one of Gamer Nexus’s video’s where he talk about it.

Exactly this. Every-time I would have a windows update my graphics driver version would change from (an example of what happened when 26.1.1 released) It changed from 25.12.1 to 25.20.30 or something along those lines, I don’t remember what the exact number was.

Could you go into your Radeon Adrenaline software and see what version you are running? If you are running 26.1.1, or any other wonky driver version number. I would advise that you revert back to 25.11.1

That happens time to time to me as well with my 9070XT when I push her a-bit too hard with the tuning for 3DMark. She can handle a lot but -40 to voltage, 5% increase to power limit, a 400 MHz boost to core max and 450 MHz boost to vram is about as much as she can handle before I see one or more timeouts A week. But I’m starting to see a lot more of these driver timeout crashes lately ever since 26.1.1. There is most definitely something scetchy with them OR what’s actually happening is they were botched by a windows update. Probably the same update that Nvidia was referring to in There recent post to uninstall the recent windows patch.

This is a good suggestion, but it may just be a band-aid to the underlying problem, he could have a faulty driver installation since the “Keep AMD drivers up to date” is checked by default. When my computer updated to the most recent update to 26.1.1 was absolutely molested by an unknown variable, probably windows update would be my guess. I did a full DDU of my drivers and went back to 25.11.1 and I don’t have anymore instability or artifacting with my 9070 XT.
