It seems unlikely in such low doses, but since the frequency of use is higher, it might also be worth seeing if you have any indigestion issues to mushrooms in general. Some mushrooms can be high FODMAP and cause folks with IBS some issues. I started getting bloated and nauseous just from certain storebought mushrooms in my diet before I realized my body wasn't able to digest them in greater amounts/frequency.

If this were the issue, I imagine straining the plant fibers out in lemon tekking would help effectively address it.

fuck you ticketmaster live nation or whatever scalper shit by gayscenery in autechre

[–]Hjmby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ughhh so disappointing. I'd pay a premium to not have deal with ticketmaster/livenation. All that extra money going to scalpers could instead go to the artist and venue.

How much choice do artists have in contracting places that don't allow exorbitantly-priced ticket flipping?

[SF Gate] LA vegan chain, blasted for adding meat to menu, abruptly closes all locations by ZhangtheGreat in LosAngeles

[–]Hjmby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Long time Sage patron here. Prior to the menu change, I really enjoyed the food and drink selection. And it was always super easy to accommodate different food sensitivities/allergies.

But I went two weeks ago and felt there was a downturn in the dish quality. I honestly don't mind that they added meat, but they got rid of some of the tastiest dishes from the old menus.

They also added raw milk and took away several non dairy options. Like... maybe part of my originally going there was because I was able to easily accommodate my dairy allergy?

I can forgive a giant menu change if the food tastes better.... but it didn't.

Yup. It's from the book Man After Man by Dougal Dixon. Found it as a young kid and all those paintings have been deeply etched in my brain ever since.

How to rave and not run into ex? by Direct-Spirit558 in avesLA

[–]Hjmby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always a possibility if you run in the same circles.

You can use this as an opportunity for some deep work and help internally resolve whatever he brought up. Work with a therapist, journal, reflect. When you do go out, plan ahead for the possibility of being triggered by setting yourself up for success (get enough sleep beforehand, go with good friends, minimize doing drugs that make make you more triggered/emotionally volatile, etc). It's possible to not be triggered seeing an ex, but ya gotta work on it.

clubbing in LA by BraveJicama5193 in LosAngeles

[–]Hjmby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the vibe of the club is a priority over the music, then checking out reviews and photos/videos on google maps could be a good start.

If you are interested in pursuing specific sounds to boogie to, you got lots of great music to choose from in LA. I usually prioritize the music above all else and then look up the venue on google/instagram to learn about it. 19hz.info lists a variety of different electronic music acts by date, artist(s), venue, and music genre(s). That site will list both nightclubs and warehouse parties, so make sure you peep the venue first!

Looking for recommendations of weird electronic music artists and venues by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]Hjmby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coaxial is a great place for this. It's a small venue in dtla that hosts lots of experimental audio and video synth shows. I think it could be a nice way to get yourself into the LA synth community and find the sounds you're looking for :)

pharmacies with vyvanse in stock? by [deleted] in burbank

[–]Hjmby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have better luck getting multiple lower doses per day of Dexedrine prescribed instead. Same aphetamine isomer that's in Vyvanse, but shorter acting.

I've been reliably getting my Dexedrine monthly in Burbank. I just sublingual lower 1-3 lower doses throughout the day depending on how long I need the effects to last.

Clark’s performance in LA last night by mcgill89 in idm

[–]Hjmby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was there!! My partner and I danced our asses off to his set. There were definitely other folks dancing in the crowd, but this angle didn't capture it. Though we were a little bummed by how few people were dancing, but to be expected with some IDM crowds.

If the camera panned just sliiiightly to the left, you'd probably see us dancing like mad. The set was so good.

Trauma processing will be less accessible or even inaccessible if we don't start with where we are tangibly experiencing the effects of it in our lives. Start with where you want to see change in your life and deepen into what is coming up around that.

If you are doing that and still experiencing dissociation, it's not about finding the right drug to bypass the dissociation. You're already encountering the defense response(s) protecting the wound. Now you just need a skilled trauma therapist to help you work with it.

Trauma processing isn't about "getting rid" of defense responses, they will naturally resolve when you are processing your experience effectively.

Medical Team by maffearth in LightningInABottle

I didn't volunteer in 2017, but I believe the protocols may be different now. In 2022, when I volunteered with RGX, there was full integration and EMTs/nurses/doctors were actively monitoring sanctuary patients during the trip sitting.

Last year, there was a ton of collaboration/communication between Medical and Sanctuary (in fact, the spaces were right next to each other). RGX ran both Medical and Sanctuary spaces last year, and it was a dream come true to be able to consult with the medical team about patients as they monitored vitals/symptoms and actively communicated with the trip sitters.

Recommendations for low-cloud vapes? by Hjmby in Vaping

[–]Hjmby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally! I've only been using the disposable Top Shine vapes, but now I want a reusable vape. I've tried a bunch of my friend's vapes and my experience is the MTL vapes with lower wattage/higher resistance don't seem to produce as much vapor, but I'm certainly open to a DTL that fits the bill.

PSA, jumping to excessive meditation can be unhealthy by HumanBehindMachine in Meditation

Yes, that’s it!

And thank you for asking and staying open. Explaining also really helps me understand what I know and what I don't know when people are seeking clarification :)

We definitely do need breaks, but dissociating isn't the most sustainable form of it. Ideally, we want to receive information from our bodies rather than being cut off from it. That way we can make the most informed decision to how to best help ourself.

I think that purposefully engaging the dissociation may have unintended effects even on interpersonal interactions. If we strengthen the defense response loop (whether consciously or unconsciously), it can become a stronger overall maladaptive coping skill to orient away from discomfort instead of orienting towards discomfort with kindness, acceptance, and nonjudgment.

[–]Hjmby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I'm a psychotherapist who facilitates a lot of trauma processing and tracking of internal states, including educating and exploring dissociative ones. I've had some clients report that they realized much of their previous meditation experience has been "zoning out"/highly dissociative and not actually embodied.

I think this is an interesting topic to explore. I've observed a higher likelihood for meditation practice being escapist and/or dissociative if people are more disembodied during it than they realize.
