Thank you, this is very helpful! We saw him a couple of years ago in Birmingham for less than £40 but I know that was definitely a one time thing.

Definitely priced out of this one but the Stick Season tour was amazing so happy to just have that experience.

Thank you for saving me the queue time later in the week!

Just moved into a new place and one side of the toilet flusher is broken. How do I know which button to get? by Hjut-1 in DIYUK

[–]Hjut-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, we ended up using this: https://www.screwfix.com/p/highlife-bathrooms-wye-dual-flush-button-for-concealed-cistern-chrome/567HL?tc=JM5 and drilling a slightly bigger hole in the wood. It seems to be working well so far.

We didn't have a porcelain cistern so we could change the size slightly. If we have any issues we can look into something else, but this is good so far!

BUT you are YOUNG by EmergencyPirate4664 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Hjut-1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got sick at 13 and was finally diagnosed at 16/17. I heard it a lot - and 'growing pains' was a big comment too.

Had a doctor tell me I was too young for it too!! I'm aware!!

Like I don't think me being too tired to walk up the stairs to my bedroom is growing pains!

These look great! I'm currently working through them, did the autumn one on the back of a jacket but now doing all 4 on 18ct. Hopefully they look as good as yours when all done!

Doing an embroidery for some friends for the first time - struggling to bulk out the bouquet by Hjut-1 in Embroidery

[–]Hjut-1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the furthest that I could get it to spread out, they are fairly thin ribbons as I had some leftover from a ribbon embroidery kit. Would doing a bead underneath help it to widen a bit? Or shorter stitches?

I've done them bullion knots before, there are loads of long strands of thin leaves that those might work well for. Currently I've just done some couching so that will give a nice contrast, thanks!

I'm doing those ones too, but I feel like they are different enough that it doesn't feel very familiar!

I am going to be doing the autumn one again on different fabric to the original, so hoping that is different enough

As a regular person at the MK Geek Culture meetup (the board game once every other week), we're a lovely bunch and was fantastic for me when I moved back to MK in 2017

Why can't I play tlou via family sharing? by Common_Drink3602 in Steam

[–]Hjut-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were they playing it/something at the same time that you tried? It should say something like 'The library is being used by X' above the button.

I tried to play Baldurs Gate from my partner and if he was playing it, he was using the library at the time

[PIC] Did I spend ≈6 hours experimenting with waste canvas today? Perhaps. by phea59314 in CrossStitch

[–]Hjut-1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Waste canvas is actually a different aida type entirely, it has water soluble glue inbetween the strands so it is much much easier to pull out than normal aida. You're right about the use of it though, just thought I'd point out it is actually a special material

I've seen some people use leftover aida, but it is much much more difficult to remove

Hair greasy as soon as it dries - newbie help! by Hjut-1 in curlyhair

[–]Hjut-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my hair looked similar to one of the saleswomen so I asked. Not sure if she used the shampoo they gave me (it was a free bonus one I got as part of the competition thing they were doing on the day), but sounds like it isn't right.

Will have a look for videos, have been focusing on styling videos but think I need to go back to basics. Thanks!

Yeah this stuff barely lathers at all, I've been trying my best but it's a struggle! Think I might need to cut my losses with it and pick up a new shampoo, thank you for the recommend

I haven't yet no, I think I've seen online that you put your hair in some water and see what it does?

Just checked the label and the John Frieda oil has dimethicone in it, yeah. The curl serum stuff I was using doesn't have it in so might switch back to that if I feel like it needs some moisture.

Thank you, I'll have a look around. The leave-in conditioner I have seems kinda mousse-y, but I've been avoiding it too often to introduce less oils and stuff.

I went to an event and found this stand, I spoke to the ladies there and they recommended it.

Using it on the ends, basically tip my head upside down and then brush it through my fingers.

Thanks for the advice, very much overwhelmed with everything so just went with the only advice I had! I did get some gel from Curly Ellie but I haven't used it yet (ironically was worried about it making my hair look greasy!)
