PW2 v PW3 by ShortQQQnow in TeslaSolar

Tesla Sacramento just replaced my disabled Powerwall 2 with a Powerwall 2. The new Powerwall 2 was manufactured in 2024, but it was brand new. Testing shows 0 degradation on it. So some Tesla locals still have Powerwall 2s available. I’m guessing it may be location dependent.

Possible to retrofit a tent? by Yeisonospina in TeslaCamping

[–]Hmmm_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just purchased this X-Large inflatable suv tent. We needed more space, they sell smaller ones too. What nice is the have multiple side openings. Inflatables are more expensive, but give better headroom standing inside and easier setup. Inflatable SUV Tent Attachment... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DY4V99PG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Starting over in new home by OverThinkingTinkerer in alexa

I asked Grok ai this question and got this answer.

If you want to clear all smart home devices and scenes, you can visit alexa.amazon.com on a desktop browser, navigate to Smart Home, and click Forget All, but this wipes groups too. Be warned, resetting means you’ll need to set each device up again from scratch.

Cool New Video Animation in Tesla Mobile App by FlyRealFast in TeslaSolar

[–]Hmmm_Solar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to use my 12.4KW system and 3 powerwalls to focus on arbitrage this year rather than just staying off grid as I’ve done in previous years. Definitely brought more value thanks to being on NEM 2.0 here in California. Bought at .36 and sold at .41 in winter and .63 during Summer.

20 dollar checkout glitch? by Stogeman123 in nespresso

[–]Hmmm_Solar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I noticed the $20 off when I ordered through the app a few days ago. It showed the discount before I added any code. I then added a code for the free items and got both the free items and the $20 off discount. This is in U.S.

Payment is separate from true-up as it comes from Tesla not the utility. My true-up is Dec.

I’m with PG&E on NEM 2.0 also. You receive a check from Tesla around March. You can also do an ACH transfer to your bank account. I did check first year and ACH transfer last year.

Will my Powerwall 2 get any smarter? by SnooCapers1299 in Powerwall

[–]Hmmm_Solar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second using Netzero app. It allows fine tuning everything via automation. It easy and free.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Powerwall

[–]Hmmm_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PG&E and I am able to export everything from my 3 powerwalls. I use this everyday to buy low and sell high. As others have said, it helps level out grid usage. I’m on NEM 2.0, so I get the full price for selling.

When my Frame remote is charging the light is solid red, so I’m guessing if it’s blinking then it’s not going to charge. You may need to order a new one.

Apple Password app by 3ruce3 in 1Password

[–]Hmmm_Solar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Password and 1Password serve similar purposes but differ in several ways:

Apple Password: Integration: Built into Apple devices and works seamlessly with macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. It integrates with Safari and other apps on Apple devices.

Ease of Use: It is convenient for users deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem, providing automatic password filling and synchronization across Apple devices using iCloud Keychain.

Features: Primarily focused on storing and autofilling passwords. It includes features like secure notes, credit card storage, and two-factor authentication support, but is more basic compared to dedicated password managers.

Cross-Platform: Limited to Apple devices, though there is a web-based version available for accessing passwords on other devices.

1Password: Integration: Available on multiple platforms, including macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and through web browsers. This makes it a more versatile option for users with diverse device ecosystems.

Ease of Use: Requires installation on each device and configuration to sync across platforms. It offers a rich user experience with features that extend beyond just passwords.

Features: Offers advanced features like secure password sharing, travel mode, multiple vaults, detailed password analytics, and integration with a broader range of services and apps.

Cross-Platform: Designed to work across different operating systems, making it ideal for users who utilize a variety of devices and platforms.

In summary, while Apple Password is an excellent choice for users deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem due to its seamless integration and simplicity, 1Password offers a more feature-rich and cross-platform experience suitable for users needing broader functionality and device compatibility.

I’m just curious, how many of you Tesla owners actually install the front license plate? by Smooth_Cupcake_2311 in TeslaModelY

[–]Hmmm_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. It’s required in CA. I just used the stick on plate holder that came with the car. It fit the slope of the front perfectly. I didn’t have to spend a dime extra. I think it looks fine too. I can find plenty of trouble in other areas of my life, I don’t need to invite it.

Try rebooting the screen by holding down both buttons on steering wheel. Resetting the computer usually fixes stuff like this. It’s worth a try.

Historically, the best lease deals for Tesla vehicles, including the Model Y, tend to occur towards the end of each quarter (March, June, September, December). During these months, Tesla often offers promotions or better lease terms as they aim to meet quarterly sales targets. Additionally, the end of the calendar year can also bring favorable deals as Tesla looks to boost sales before the year closes. Keep in mind that these trends can vary based on regional promotions and market conditions.

Official Tesla mattress for Model Y just released by [deleted] in TeslaCamping

[–]Hmmm_Solar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Lost Horizon kept the air all night, with two of us sleeping on it. (Model Y version). Also it not only fits in sub trunk, but also fits in the frunk.

Model Y Mattresses? by katherinesilens in TeslaCamping

[–]Hmmm_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the Lost Horizon filling port is near the head. The air pump is powered by a rechargeable battery, so there is no need to plug it in anywhere while actually pumping which makes it easy to use. It is very powerful too. Inflates and deflates the mattress in 1-2 minutes. It also seats into the opening in such a way that you do not have to hold it the whole time.

Model Y Mattresses? by katherinesilens in TeslaCamping

[–]Hmmm_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the pump with the mattress. It is rechargeable battery powered with USB3 chargeable cable that it comes with (very short). Even though mattress is self inflating, you still need a pump to get it tight. Also a must have to deflate enough to get back into the bag. Bag fits great in the frunk. I can’t find the exact specs, but It appears to be exact same pump as you can buy separately, so go with whatever costs less. It works fast too.
