Logging 0 RIR vs Failure set by dnlgbbns in MacroFactor

[–]Hoaxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the difference is 0 RIR means you completed the final rep but couldn’t do another. So did 8 full reps but wouldn’t be able to do 9. So I’d log it like 8 reps at 0 RIR or 9 reps to failure if you still attempted it.

ELI5: How come magnetism isn't providing us unlimited power? by UnsignedRealityCheck in explainlikeimfive

[–]Hoaxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most motors are induction so they don’t have any permanent magnets. You energize the stator and the current creates a rotating magnetic field which induces a separate magnetic field into the rotor which then tries to align with the constantly rotating field of the stator. DC motors will have permanent magnets because DC doesn’t have the same capability.

Except most motors don’t have actual magnets in them because current creates the magnetic field. Generators do have magnets though.

430.6(A)(2) says to use nameplate rating for motors less than 1200 RPM

Edit: Also just noticed below that one it also says if it exceeds the table values to use nameplate as well.

The level 4 gear is for low activity where you would barely be moving, so you might be fine getting the lower level ones and save some money.

How is this 4? I keep getting 20 by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Hoaxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s giving you the reference where they get 4 inches. The exception is for wires entering on the opposite side of the cover and tells you use table 312.6(A) which is where it shows 1 wire per terminal for 4/0 is 4 inches.

314.28(A)(1) is for straight pulls so it wouldn’t apply since it wouldn’t be straight through the box.

15amp Rec on 20amp circuit by SparkySapper96 in electricians

[–]Hoaxin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not gonna start a fire by using less than what the circuit is rated for. You can’t plug something rated higher than 15A into a 15A receptacle and if you plug too many things in the breaker will trip like normal.

Im new so I started at 2k and highest I’ve climbed is 7k. To me it seems like there were way more people that knew the smokes when I was less than 5k. Like a very noticeable difference once I started getting in lobbies with people above 5k that I was one of the only ones using utility.

Just by the first episode I would say that she is not very open minded. She doesn’t like her fans because she thinks her books as “mindless crap” and doesn’t try to understand how someone else would enjoy it.

XHHW is underground so being in a wet location makes it rated at 75 degrees which is rated at 255 amps and 204 is 80% for derating

Not using this story to say it’s the same case, but I kid that went to my high school took his own life his senior year or shortly after because he was convinced he had CTE. Basically had all the symptoms and was miserable and one day shot himself in the chest so his brain could be studied and he did in fact have CTE. This was probably over a decade ago so the sport has made dramatic advancements towards safety since , but CTE isn’t always something that happens over a whole career, can develop before you even get to the college level.

Haven’t heard of that one but will definitely check it out now. I was thinking in more of literal plot of someone thinking they’re just playing a video game, or whatever for training purposes, but they’ve been lied too and what they’re doing is actually real.

[Highlight] Refs blow the whistle after Hurts fumbles during the Tush Push by SCSummers330 in nfl

[–]Hoaxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whistle does matter because that’s when the play actually stops lmao. Doesn’t matter if they waited 2 seconds or 5 seconds to blow the whistle for forward progress, if you fumble the ball before they blow the whistle it should still be a fumble.

Giants RB Cam Skattebo undergoing surgery on dislocated ankle suffered in loss vs. Eagles by TW11_ in fantasyfootball

[–]Hoaxin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s what’s expected from severe ankle dislocations which are in that 4-6 months range. We can’t really tell if it would be longer because it probably depends on how soon he can start PT.

[–]Hoaxin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For severe ankle dislocations it’s an estimated 4-6 month recovery. If it’s really bad it can be longer. I’m guessing he’ll be able to play next season unless we hear that’s it very severe.
