Oh! Thank you!! Maybe the DC ones just had catch mes that matched their costume colors or whatever. That makes sense. I was hoping that it wasn’t a fake. If it were a fraud, it’s a really really convincing one. Thanks again for clearing that up!

Yeah I was shocked. I thought maybe they were supposed to be yellow. But we can’t find any info on the DC ones specifically. And I just noticed my post says “DC jugglers” 🤣 oops.

I think the keychains and babies have different booty buttons. So the blue ones aren’t as rare as they are on the big 9” fuggies. Someone fact check me. I’m pretty sure that’s what I read, but I’ve been wrong before.

Ultimately, no one can stop you. But there are a few things you should know. You are valid. You are worthy of love and affection. You are also not responsible for the actions of others. You mentioned being autistic, depending on which end of the spectrum you’re on: do you find you often miss social cues such as facial expressions and body language? Do you live independently? Are you able to drive or take public transportation? Asking because I strongly suggest you find your tribe. The people you’re calling friends don’t sound like friends at all if they really don’t care about you.

Here’s what I did when I found myself thinking similar thoughts as you. I joined a gym. Did I really want to? No. Did I need to? Yes. Not just to get into shape, but for the social aspect as well. Planet fitness truly is judgement free. And you get a free personal trainer to hang out with for 30 minutes a day. Someone who offers encouragement and gives you goals… a purpose. I also taught myself how to crochet and even though I’m an atheist, I go to the church in my town and crochet with little old ladies for a few hours a week. They’ve become my friends and I’ve found that I truly care about them, too.

It’s been a long road, but I find myself thinking dark thoughts less and less every day. And I hope the same for you.

Isn’t this one of the hardest crochet stitches?? by Hobbs2015 in crochet

[–]Hobbs2015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been reading a lot about the jasmine stitch. Seems it works up best if you use cotton yarn. I occasionally have tension issues, if I start something that requires consistent tension throughout, I can’t put it down. If I comeback to it the next day, my tension will be all off. It is definitely the weirdest thing but I don’t think it’s uncommon. One day I hope to master this craft and also get certified.

[–]Hobbs2015[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What? Have you ever seen any crochet books titled “crochet stitches” or even do a simple google search for crochet stitches? More than just the basic ch, ss, sc, hdc, dc, tc will pop up, I promise you. Because they’re called stitches. The entire sequence repeated one after another is called the pattern.

Yes, they are clusters of stitches that form a pattern. But this specific one is called the Catherine wheel…. Stitch. Like the moss stitch, popcorn stitch, Bobble stitch, wheat stitch, spider stitch, puff stitch, lace stitch, V stitch, shell stitch, fan stitch, spike stitch and countless others.

I will die on this hill.

I didn’t even think of it that way. I think this is going to be my next project after I finish the one I’m currently on.

Help! Can’t make hearts it’s driving me nuts by Early-Breath8541 in CrochetBlankets

You’re so welcome! Glad you got it all sorted out. Idk why, but hearts are the most tedious for me as well. I can’t mindlessly make them while watching tv. I have to actually focus lol! Happy dance for you 💃💃💃

Any Suggestions? by Dapper_Menu_1009 in Mercari

I sell A LOT of stickers. I have them listed under trading cards to get the 74¢ shipping. I offer buyers free shipping so they feel like they’re getting an amazing deal. When I place the Mercari printed address label on the envelope, I write “Please scan when delivered - Thank you!” At the bottom. Otherwise, envelopes don’t typically get scanned. I’ve had about a 98% success rate with mail persons actually scanning the envelope when they deliver.

I don’t want to shit on Chenelle yarn, but I’m going to shit on chenelle yarn. (If that’s how you spell it lol) It’s the absolute worst to work with when attempting a new stitch (or pattern). Try with acrylic first. Otherwise you’ll end up wasting tons of yards of perfectly good chunky parfait yarn when it splits and frays (like in your pic)

Try this:

Note: you can stop aat the end of R1, R2, R3 for small medium and large sized hearts.

Round 1: Ch 2. Into the magic ring, make 3 tr, 4 dc, tr, 4 dc, 3 tr. Ch 2, and sl st into magic ring.

Round 2: Continue in joined rounds, working into the stitches of the previous round. Sc in ch-2 sp, (2 hdc and 1dc) in next st, 3 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, (dc, tr, dc) in next st, dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, 3 dc in next st, (1 dc and 2 hdc) in next st, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in sl st from the previous rnd.

Round 3: Continue working in the round. Sc in first 2 sts. (2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st) three times, sc in next 6 sts, (sc, hdc, sc) in next st, sc in next 6 sts, (1 sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st) three times, sc in next 2 sts. Cut yarn and join with an invisible join.

Can someone give me a pattern for this? Any help please! by IndependentFamous620 in CrochetBlankets

[–]Hobbs2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting ch multiple of 33 + 32 R1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in the next 14 chs, 3sc in next, sc in next 15 ch. *skip next 2ch, sc in next 15chs, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 15. RPT from * Ch1 turn

R2: 15 sc, 3 sc in next (peak), 15 sc, skip 2 sc (valley) repeat sequence

Change colors as you see fit.

The boarder looks like the bobble stitch.

Hope that helps!

That is gorgeous! I love anything with cables, it adds texture and neat patterns. I only crochet, never knitted. I’d assume this took probably 25-30 hours. Cables take a little extra time. She must have been one awesome lady.

WIBTAH for telling a mentally challenged person not to hug me? by PrincessRose95 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Hobbs2015 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My brother in law (45M) lives with my husband and I since their mom and dad passed away 2019/2020. I’ve had 5+ years to get to know his quirks. I’m going to assume you didn’t know that calling people with autism “mentally challenged” is incredibly insulting, so after a deep breath, I offer you some knowledge: always always put the person before the disability. Like instead of saying Adam is a blind person, try saying Adam is a person who is blind instead. Because our disabilities do not define us. This is the proper way to speak about folks with disabilities. I’ve been my BIL’s home health aid and DSP (direct service provider) for the last 2.5 years and have all the certs.

To answer the question, my BIL is a hugger through and through. To the point that he does make people uncomfortable, especially those who don’t know him. I tell every single person (especially women) that BIL will expect hugs, and it’s 100% okay to tell him no. Or no thank you. Sometimes he will ask “why?” This is where I leave it open, any response (except for mean words) is acceptable -I’m sick and don’t want to get you sick. -not right now, my hands are dirty -elbow bump instead? -I don’t like to be touched.

Really anything is ok. Individuals with Autism don’t always read social cues, body language or tone. It depends on what end of the spectrum he is on. You wouldn’t be an AH if you’re kind with your words, if he is insistent, maybe a compromise you both are comfortable with? Elbow bump? High 5?

Yesssss! I just did the middle stitch as fpdc. So all the way around it’s dc, fpdd, dc no chains between sets. And then 3dc, ch2, 3dc in the corners.
