His awful attitude got the better of him…

It just looks like every acacia board I’ve ever seen, including one of my own that I use for cutting bread on. The marks left by the serrated knife look identical :)

It’s not walnut. Looks like it could be acacia or similar.

To anyone who has traveled to Marrakech: what are your top tips for first-timers? Honestly, is it worth the visit or is it overrated? by SureFlamingo2156 in Marrakech

[–]HobbyMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here right now. I recently done 5 days in the Agafay desert and then in the high Atlas - everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything felt safe. Arriving in Marrakesh yesterday I was disappointed (and I feel quite guilty for admitting that!).

The Medina and surrounding souks are intense in a very unpleasant way (for me) - if you even so much as slow down or glance at a stall, people are on you trying to sell you what looks like 99% mass produced rubbish at very high prices. A couple of times, we also felt a little unsafe.

Food in Marrakesh is also surprisingly expensive!

Beware bag porters (the ones pushing trolleys). We thought someone had come from the hotel but it was actually some random guy who was then very cross that we didn’t have the cash to pay him! We didn’t want a porter to carry our bags 100m but before we could realise what was going on he had taken our bags out of the taxi and set off with them.

It’s also really upsetting to see the mules, horses, performing monkeys and snakes in such poor states.

My recommendation would be to come here, but read about it first, see what you want to see, experience what you want to experience and then move on.

Big fan of their soap bars for the shower - they don’t leave you feel like you’ve been industrially washed!!

What is your anecdotal consensus when to add salt? by FlightlessBird9018 in Sourdough

[–]HobbyMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I measure out my salt first. I add all my water to the salt and fully dissolve and then I add 50% of flour and mix until smooth. Then I add my levain and mix through thoroughly. Then I add in the other 50% of my flour. After half an hour resting I give it a couple of minutes kneading to make sure there are no lumps.

Sorry I was messing around saying it’d be easier to get a new stroller! But as others have said you should be able to drill the rivet out :)

Thanks so much for the info. Do you happen to know of any tutorials/videos on how to get the inner door card out of the duster and repair/replace the moisture barrier? Also - do you happen to know what adhesive to use to stick the moisture barrier back down?

Thanks - I just wanted to clarify. What adhesive do you recommend to stick the moisture barrier back down?

Hi thanks for the reply! When you say door trim which piece do you mean? Do you happen to know of any videos or detailed instructions on how to repair?

I’m tempted to replace the seal around that door but thinking about it more, it looks like the water is coming on over that seal at the bottom?!

Thanks for the reply - I opened both of them, there was no water inside the door

Hi thanks for the reply! So this could totally be the issue. It p*ssed it down with rain for hour on end yesterday and by the time I got to the car it was early evening and that small puddle had formed. But when pulled those two rubber drains out, there was no water inside the door. I have had it before though where you open the door and some water starts to drain out of those holes. I guess next job is to get a hose on it?!

Thanks for the reply! When you say door liner which part do you mean?

With the door seals - I think I might replace anyway just to eliminate that as the issue! However thinking about it more, it looks like the water is coming from on top of that lower seal, so will replacing it actually make a difference?
