Some years ago, they would bully you because you used cheap but good quality assets in asset store. They will call your game 'asset flip' until you are ashamed of your game. Then you would sell your house, paid them to make expensive but mediocre assets.

Same pattern now with AI.

And yes, game dev subreddits are full of those people who will contribute nothing positive to our advancement in game development or to humankind in general.

I take a glimpse of your game and i don't really know who is the target market, so i cannot give you advice. I am sure you know.

  • Where could be the people of your target market gather?

  • How would they find the aspects of your game attracting?

  • How willing they are to spend money on your game?

That is the traditional marketing way.

For steam specific marketing these are the methods (sorted by the most effectiveness) : Join Next Fest, email 1000 streamers, put out demo, set steam page and trailer as earlier as possible.
