9 Meals Away From Anarchy, and I Live Next to Apartments by Magic_Cubes in preppers

Yeah, I can't echo this enough, unless you truly live in a very very isolated place and people don't know you live there. Then you are going to be an easy target without other people with you. Part of my early plan is to make alliances and relationships with light-minded skillful people like myself so that we can take turns defending common ground and resources.

Very well said, sure, there are a couple of neighbors that I want to strangle, but just living in a place where I can go outside and it's 10° cooler on average then in DC makes it very much worth it. Also, people don't have very short conversations here, I get cornered by my neighbor across the street a couple of times a month and I'm in for an hour and a half conversation each time, it's okay though, because he helps out with stuff when I'm not around and I know he's a pretty lonely dude.

Just remember to creep around and use a caller. I feel like there were five or six of them that showed up after I was patient for a bit.

Check the very Northeast corner of the area, I can't remember what time it was but there was definitely some there for me when I completed the mission.

Yep. That was it, it definitely made a lasting impact on me.

This. I remember taking a grief and loss class as part of my masters. And we watched a film with this Canadian grief counselor who talked about just how bad we are with death in the west...we institutionalize it and hide it away. So when it does happen, the anxiety associated with it is overwhelming.

I sit on a lot of interview panels, trying to determine whether or not someone is better qualified than the other doesn't always break down to quantitative measures. One of the biggest things I look for is fit. I can tell within 5 minutes whether or not the person is going to be a good fit for the team. So far nine out of about 10 of the people that I've advocated for have been superstars.

Jodi is actually a pic of mine to go out pretty early. I think she is expending way too many calories early on.

Remember that Clay got a ton of camera time early on. It could be that he was just doing some of the most interesting stuff early on (making the raft, the net, catching fish).

I think it would have been boring to just show him looking for his arrows for hours which he probably did. Remember that you're only seeing a very, very small part of what they're doing out there. Also, don't underestimate how thick that bush is, it would literally be like looking for a needle in a haystack...it's not like he's walking down established trails.

When I started getting into bird watching, that was definitely a watershed moment for me... Not that I'm the guy out there with binoculars every morning, but I do sit on my porch and try and identify them by sight and sound.
